From countless lifetimes, the deity I have relied upon through the power of virtue, today I meet you face to face. Do not forget the secret name and vows, accept this crown as a sign of empowerment. Oṃ Vajrapuṣpe Abhiṣiñca Mām (藏文:ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་པུཥྤེ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་མཱཾ།,梵文天城体:ओṃ वज्रपुष्पे अभिषिञ्च मां,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ vajrapuṣpe abhiṣiñca māṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡,金刚,花,灌顶,我). Ho! Son of the lineage, your secret name is Vajra Garland of Skulls Power. Accept this crown as a sign of empowerment, uphold the vows you have received properly, and quickly attain the three kāyas, accomplishing immeasurable benefit for others. Recite auspicious verses, scatter flowers, and play music. To request the great vase empowerment with elaborations, offer a maṇḍala and repeat this supplication: Ho! Lama, great empowerment, protector of beings, relying on the supreme vase empowerment, please bestow upon us, fortunate sons, the vase empowerment with elaborations. (Repeat three times) Visualize rays of light emanating from the heart of the guru, and the deities of empowerment filling the sky, invited with many auspicious aspects, holding precious vases filled with streams of nectar, empowering you. Holding the vase: Hūṃ! Inside the vase is a palace, where the assembly of the three roots resides. (If it is the lama, then the lama's assembly of deities resides. Whatever deity or ḍākinī is being invoked, state it accordingly.) Having approached and accomplished through outer, inner, and secret means, the supreme empowerments of body, speech, and mind, may they be instilled into the body, speech, and mind of the disciples. Having fully received the four empowerments, may we reach the end of the four kāyas. At the end of the root mantra: Abhiṣiñca Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ Hrīḥ (藏文:ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:अभिषिञ्च ॐ आः हूँ ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:abhiṣiñca oṃ āḥ hūṃ hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:灌顶,嗡,阿,吽,啥,嘿). Place the vase on the head and give the vase water. Again, holding the vase, scatter flowers. Son of the lineage, because you have received this vase empowerment, may you gain the supreme empowerment of knowing all outer and inner vessels and contents as the palace. Through the empowerment of the four seals, may you gain the supreme empowerment of subduing the four māras. Having escaped from the kalpa (Sanskrit: kalpa, aeon) of famine, may you obtain the fruit of the three kayas (Sanskrit: trikāya, three bodies of a Buddha). By the empowerment of the five medicines, may you be liberated from the four hundred and four diseases. By the empowerment of the five scents, may you be endowed with the ten pāramitās (Sanskrit: pāramitā, perfections). May eighty thousand kinds of obstructing spirits be pacified. By the empowerment of the five precious substances, symbolizing the possession of wish-fulfilling qualities, may you be liberated from the kalpa of weapons, and may the hopes of sentient beings be fulfilled. By the empowerment of the five essences, may the five poisons be purified and endowed with the five wisdoms, the supreme and sacred empowerment of the complete five kayas. By the empowerment of the five senses, may the two benefits be perfected, and may you, with the two bodies, benefit immeasurable sentient beings until the end of the kalpa, may you obtain the supreme and sacred empowerment. By the empowerment of the five kinds of threads, may sentient beings be protected from the suffering of afflictions, and may the power of compassion continuously hold them, and may the inseparability of emptiness and compassion be connected. By the empowerment of the vase adorned with splendor, may you obtain the sacred empowerment of the four activities of pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and wrathful. Thus, aspirations are spoken. Offer a maṇḍala (Sanskrit: maṇḍala, cosmic diagram) as the price for requesting the actual empowerment. Repeat after this supplication: Guru (Sanskrit: guru, spiritual teacher), be mindful! I, who am called ..., desire to enter the empowerment of Guru Thodphreng Tsal (Tibetan: gu ru thod phreng rtsal, Guru Garland of Skulls). Vajra (Sanskrit: vajra, diamond/thunderbolt) Thodphreng Tsal, be mindful of me! Please purify and cleanse all my karmic and afflictive obscurations! Please bless me to be liberated from the three realms of samsara (Sanskrit: saṃsāra, cycle of existence), to praise and deliver from the ocean of samsara! Please grant me the empowerment to realize self-awareness and wisdom, and to be a guide for beings! Please bestow the four streams of empowerment, filling the vase! Having supplicated in this way, visualize as follows: On the crown of your head, the blessings of Guru in union descend as bodhicitta (Sanskrit: bodhicitta, mind of enlightenment), and the seed syllables of body, speech, and mind appear in the three places: Appearing on the crown of the head, you receive the vase empowerment, enabling you to meditate on the maṇḍala. The obscurations of the body are purified, you obtain the accomplishment of the body, and you receive the empowerment of the Nirmāṇakāya (Sanskrit: nirmāṇakāya, emanation body). Appearing at the throat, you receive the secret empowerment, enabling you to recite mantras, teach the Dharma, and meditate on the channels and winds. The obscurations of speech are purified, you obtain the complete three bodies, the seal of speech is secured, and the sound is the self-sound of the Dharma nature, you obtain the Sambhogakāya (Sanskrit: saṃbhogakāya, enjoyment body). Descending at the heart, you receive the empowerment of wisdom and jñāna (Sanskrit: jñāna, knowledge), enabling you to accomplish samādhi (Sanskrit: samādhi, meditative absorption) with mudrā (Sanskrit: mudrā, hand gesture) and the self-arising power of Dharma nature. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
