One should not deviate from the state of the deity's mandala, and one should not engage in ordinary appearances, arguments, debates, and clamor, etc. Then, the remaining items should be collected and placed to one side. If there are no disciples, then the final procedures should be performed. This well demonstrates how to perform the regular practice offerings and the rituals for the tenth day of the month, etc. Empowerment: Empowerment, in accordance with the lower mandala, with elaborate rituals, is far superior to childish mundane activities. It is an extraordinary blessing, a sequence of meanings, a precious word empowerment, and an establishment of the four symbolic empowerments as symbols and meanings. It consists of three parts: preliminary, main, and concluding. The preliminary part includes explaining the Dharma of prior intention, consisting of preliminary and main parts. The first part is: Now, we are entering the precious lamp of the Guru's empowerment, so please listen with faith, respect, and wisdom, without distraction. We are born as humans, having the rare fortune to be born in Jambudvipa (the earth). We have obtained the precious human body endowed with the eighteen freedoms and advantages, which is extremely difficult to obtain. We have met the Guru (spiritual teacher), the virtuous friend, which is extremely difficult to encounter. At this time when we are hearing the profound and sacred Dharma of the Great Vehicle, which is extremely difficult to hear, we must seize the path to liberation by all means. If we do not seize the path this time, after death we will wander in endless samsara (cyclic existence), going from bad to worse, and we will not even hear the sound of the Dharma. Therefore, now we must cherish this precious human body, which is obtained only once in a hundred eons, and strive to practice. Life is impermanent, like the shadow of the setting sun. Death approaches in an instant. At the time of death, nothing other than the Dharma can help us. Even within the Dharma, the ways of practice are inconceivable. But in short, there are only two vehicles: the Great Vehicle and the Lesser Vehicle. Among them, we enter the Fruition Vehicle, the Secret Mantra. Within this, there are two approaches: entering from individual mandalas with elaborate rituals, and entering from the profound Guru's mandala without elaborate rituals. Because we enter through the lineage of the Guru, the Guru is the lord who encompasses all mandalas. As it says in the Pagmo Ngonjung (Manifestation of Vajravarahi): 'The Guru is the Buddha, the Guru is the Dharma, likewise, the Guru is the Sangha, the Guru is the doer of all.' And as it says in the Gongdu (Collection of Intentions): 'Know that the Guru is more important than a thousand Buddhas of an eon. Why? Because all the Buddhas of the eons arose by relying on the Gurus. Before there was a Guru, there was not even the name of 'Buddha'.' And as it says in the Chubpar Rolpa (Play of Manifestation): 'By what, in countless eons' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
