Excessive saliva and nasal mucus, and when the disease arises, falling, gnashing teeth, shaking hands and feet, vomiting bile, and feeling like entering darkness. Wind disease manifests as trembling and stiffness of the hands and feet, recurring frequently. Bile disease manifests as yellow complexion, dry mouth, and arises during emaciation. Phlegm disease manifests as joint swelling, especially excessive saliva. Poison disease manifests as unclear symptoms and confused consciousness. Spirit disease manifests as behavior different from before. The treatment methods are to use aloe and nasal lavage, emetics, bathing, and to cleanse the orifices with sharp instruments. Burn owl, crow, vulture, lizard, snake, dog, monkey, horse urine, feathers, feces, smoke. Instill yellow cow bile juice as a nasal medicine. Give rue, ruta, old ghee, and honey mixture. If the condition persists for a long time, cauterize twenty fingers. Give gentle oil, molasses wine, and perform wind secret fumigation. Perform fire needle therapy on the life force and anesthetic points. Specific treatments are similar to those for treating madness. In general, whether it is madness or amnesia, do not treat the root cause with blood bile heat. Therefore, first clear the heat, then give food, medicine, warm nourishment, and fire needle therapy. Most cases of madness and amnesia are caused by spirit possession, so rely on supplication, confession, bathing, torma, mantra, and pacification methods.
