In the context of treating wounds, how should one study? Please, O King of Physicians, the Healer, explain! Having asked thus, the Sage Vidyajñana replied as follows: "Listen, O Great Sage! Congenital wounds include tumors and hemorrhoids, Fire ulcers, millet-like sores, glandular diseases, testicular hydrocele, Tibia swelling, perineal rupture, totaling eight. First, the causes and distinctions of tumors, are explained in four aspects: signs and treatments. The cause is mumps, undigested food, Aggravated bad blood, wrapped by wind, arises. Distinctions are made by location and type of affliction. Location distinguishes between external and internal tumors. External tumors are of three types: flesh, bone, and vessel tumors. Internal tumors are of the lungs, heart, liver, spleen, kidneys, and, stomach, intestines, colon, anus, and bladder, nine in total. These types include wind, bile, blood, phlegm, and, incisions and sand-like tumors, eighteen distinctions are explained. Their signs are examined by three types: external, internal, and kind.
