It increases sleep and eliminates bile wind. Excessive intake confuses the mind, destroys shamelessness and modesty. The second stage of intoxication is like a mad elephant, a place where moral discipline is violated. The final stage of intoxication is sleeping like a mindless corpse, knowing nothing, falling into a dark place. New alcohol is heavy, while old alcohol is light. New and smooth alcohol generates warmth in the stomach and aids digestion. Barley wine, rice wine, and wheat wine are heavier. Suwa and malt wine are lighter. Heat eliminates blood, bile, and phlegm. The sixteenth chapter of the Secret Oral Instruction Tantra of the Eight Branches of the Nectar Heart Essence, which is about knowing the nature of food. Chapter Seventeen: On Restricting Food Then again, the wise Rishi Jivaka Kumarabhacca said this: Listen, great Rishi! Food and drink that should be restricted are poisonous and incompatible foods. Protect yourself from the danger of immediate death and the outbreak of diseases.
