Holding, mixing the path, ultimate. Holding the Clear Light. First 24-193 There are three types: Holding the Selfless Mother, holding A, and holding the Lama. The first is: As before, on top of the head where you visualize yourself as the deity, above the complete four seats. Visualize Lama Vajradhara, body color blue, one face and two arms, holding a vajra and bell crossed at the heart. Adorned with marks and signs, with three eyes, possessing the eight charnel ground adornments, with a smiling face of joy looking at you. From the mouth, recite: "The essence of all Buddhas of the three times, Precious Lama, for the benefit of all sentient beings, please abandon self-grasping. Please cause the arising of the unnecessary continuum. Please cause me to realize the clear light." Pray in this way. The Lama dissolves into light and merges into oneself, remaining slightly in equanimity. On top of the brain where you visualize yourself as the deity, below the skull, on a lotus and sun disc seat the size of a split lentil, visualize the Selfless Mother, body color blue, small in size, complete with face and hands. In her heart is a white, clear A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A), the nature of light. The light of A illuminates the Selfless Mother. The light of the Selfless Mother purifies your own brain, which has the nature of ignorance. Visualize the entire body of light nature as clear. Rest the mind on A, focusing on it. Thus it is said. The second is holding the mind on A: As before, until the Lama merges. Inside the body where you visualize yourself as the deity. Visualize the white central channel, like a medium-sized arrow shaft, the upper end inserted into the crown of the head, and the lower end inserted into the secret place. In the center directly in front of the navel, visualize a white, clear A, possessing the nature of light. The light of A illuminates the inside of the central channel and the entire body. Rest the mind on A, focusing on it. Thus it is said. The third is holding the clear light on the Lama: As before, until the Lama merges. Inside the body where you visualize yourself as the deity. The white central channel. Directly in front of the heart center, visualize a white four-petaled lotus. In its center, visualize your root Lama, body color white, complete. In his heart, visualize a white Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ), shining like mercury. The light of Hūṃ illuminates the Lama. Visualize the light of the Lama illuminating your entire body. Focus on that Hūṃ, and remain in equanimity. Thus it is said. Mixing the Path. The second, path use

There are two: during the day, integrate the three bodies into the path, and at night, the three bodies naturally arise. First, in order to grasp the clear light, enter into meditative equipoise, causing the unattached mind to be amazed, and having a slight sense of that, that is the Nirmanakaya. Emptiness is the Dharmakaya. The inseparability of appearance and emptiness is the Sambhogakaya. This should be practiced entirely during the daytime. Second, if you meditate in that way during the day and grasp the clear light, but do not grasp it at night, then as you go to sleep at night, without being interrupted by other thoughts, meditate with strong focus and intensity, and it is said that you will be able to mix day and night. The ultimate. (Third) Second, mixing post-meditation with meditation: In the state of meditative equipoise, although the clear light is grasped, repeatedly bringing the clear light to mind is said to be mixing post-meditation with meditation. If it is not grasped in the post-meditation state, then when suddenly rising during session breaks, without being controlled by other thoughts, rise with the focus of clear light, and also during walking, standing, lying down, and sitting, repeatedly bringing the clear light to mind is said to be mixing post-meditation with meditation. Third, mixing clarity and emptiness: Entering meditative equipoise on the object of clear light, and from that state, having a sense of clarity towards the unaltered mind, without being attached to the clarity, and without being immersed in emptiness, slightly raising the gaze with focus and intensity and entering meditative equipoise is said to be mixing the union of clarity and emptiness. Fourth, mixing bliss and emptiness: Entering meditative equipoise as before, whatever experience of bliss arises, do not be attached, but remember it as an illusion or a dream, and without being immersed in emptiness, with focused awareness, applying a little pressure, bliss will appear. Entering meditative equipoise on that nature which is not established in any way, is said to be mixing the union of bliss and emptiness. Post-practice. Third, post-practice has five aspects: general and specific samayas, dispelling obstacles, faults and benefits, dispelling doubts, identifying the doors of extraordinary manifestations, and the differences between day and night in the experience of warmth. First, protecting the fourteen root downfalls and the eight branch downfalls of the samayas, and also protecting the vows and precepts that have been taken. In particular, since this is the key to grasping the clear light, one should have extreme devotion to the lama, cultivate compassion for sentient beings, and all.
