Because he had an incredulous look. No need to mention taking refuge. Regarding conduct, if speaking from the perspective of teachings, some outer scriptures themselves have no faults. Some outer ones have many incorrect behaviors. But if according to the current practice manner, comparing Tibetan monks with the staff-bearing ones of the outer ones, or the naked monks, it's really laughable. In our Tibet, when teaching, we say this is not allowed, that is also not allowed, always saying like that. But when actually putting it into practice, they think it's okay to do any sin. They do it themselves, teach others to do it, and also make others do it. If patrons, monks, etc. commit great sins, they will be very happy, everyone knows each other's minds. So, it's better to put aside the habit of saying "evil heretics." Even sins that Indian outsiders dare not commit, Tibetan lamas, khenpos, monks, yogis all happily do. Also, the so-called "admitting self" is also very vulgar. There is a big difference between the inner and outer in view and practice. Otherwise, just subtle key secrets 23-51 cannot be distinguished. Also, here, there is a fourteen-line verse appearing irrelevantly. The first six lines of this verse seem to be satirizing the Gelug school's tenets. Originally, even these tiny letters, without any explanation of the preceding and following words, such satire appears, which is a clear sign that the other party is very dissatisfied with this. However, regarding "conventional establishment based on confusion" and the content of "signs of claiming to be Buddhists," if it is admitted that the conventional is established, even if the object to be prevented by the sign—true establishment—is prevented, except for taking refuge and appearance, it cannot be considered a Buddhist, which is too extreme. The pervasion of the conventional being established also applies to the virtuous side, some [mock][mock] some conventional are considered established. If this is how one can be considered a Buddhist, then the Shravaka Vehicle, Sutra School, and Mind-Only School are not Buddhists, then what should be said? As it is said: The Buddha's teachings have four forms. Predetermining as one wishes. This statement is contradictory. Believing that the conventional truth is established by valid cognition is the view of the Svatantrika Madhyamaka.

Although there is disagreement with the Nyingma school regarding the acceptance of terms, since all valid cognitions (pramana) are considered to be merely valid cognitions of conventional truth, there is essentially no difference from the Nyingma school in terms of meaning. Saying "one cannot abandon delusion by relying on a deluded object" is not universally applicable, so it is reasonable. This is because the Buddha himself said in the sutras, "The world abides in various ways, yet the steadfast ones subdue their desires here." This becomes contradictory. Is the explanation of something called "the combination of eight limbs" a Nyingma religious term? It borrows examples from the inner path. Although it is difficult to verify, it only has explanations like "the Noble Eightfold Path of Buddhism," and there will be no independent oral instructions or transmissions. 23-52 Furthermore, the Gelug school's religious terminology is the establishment of conventional truth through valid cognition, and they mainly engage in analytical meditation. When Je Tsongkhapa himself was alive, there were no disputes. After his passing, the Sakya and Kagyu schools all refuted it to the best of their ability. In written form, the Nyingma school also has many prophecies. All of those have already been engraved on printing blocks. Even if refutation is necessary, it has already been done to the best of one's ability, so is it not unnecessary to repeat the necessary refutations? Or should new faults that were not discovered by previous scholars be pointed out? If later Gelugpas have new tenets, then should they be refuted in the same way? Otherwise, now that warfare is rampant, it seems that doctrinal debates have disappeared. Engaging in doctrinal debates seems to only happen when both sides do not lose their monastic decorum. Generally speaking, slandering Bodhisattvas and abandoning the Dharma are the most serious actions, even worse than the five heinous crimes. This is because all the sutras have said so. Therefore, the Gelugpas also say, "Everything else is not Dharma," and others say, "Gelugpas are demons." We do not participate in such factions at all. Saying "this person who holds the views of naked ascetics" is also irrelevant nonsense. The object referred to by saying "this person who holds the views of naked ascetics," if it refers to the naked ascetics themselves, then it becomes a statement without linguistic distinction. If one says, "This person with the face of a farmer," it becomes a statement without analysis. Because that is not the farmer himself, but it can be understood as wearing the mask of a farmer.
