If it is said that liberation from samsara is achieved through wisdom, and all views are categories of wisdom, then can the fourteen views such as 'the world has an end' also be liberated through meditation? To show that this is not the case, (the text says:) The unpredicted fourteen views, in the world, what has the kinsman of the sun well-spoken? One should not contemplate on those, for that mind is not pacified. The fourteen views, such as 'the world has an end,' which are widely known in the world, what are those views that the kinsman of the sun, the perfectly complete Buddha, has well-spoken of as unpredicted views? One should not contemplate or meditate on such wrong wisdom views, because that does not pacify the afflictions of the mind, that is, one's own mind stream. The summary of the fourteen unpredicted views is: I and the world have an end, no end, both, neither. I and the world are permanent and impermanent, both, neither. After the Tathagata passes away, arising and not arising, both, neither. I and life are one and different, these are the fourteen unpredicted views. That is to say, like I and the world have an end, etc., clinging to whether I and the aggregates are the same or not, clinging to the boundary of the size of objects, and whether the temporal boundaries of past and future exist or not, whether they are both, or neither. Clinging to whether the boundary of the upper and lower directions of the world realm is finite or infinite, clinging to whether the temporal boundaries of kalpas of formation and destruction exist or not, whether they are both or neither. Whether I and the world are permanent or impermanent, whether they are both or neither. After the Tathagata passes away into the realm of nirvana without remainder, whether one returns to samsara from liberation or not, whether one arises or does not arise, whether they are both or neither. Clinging to whether I and life are one or different. These fourteen views, many non-Buddhist wanderers asked the Tathagata because of need, and the Tathagata did not temporarily predict them, so these evil views are called unpredicted views. The twelve links of dependent origination...
