Do not rely on bad friends, do not dwell with sin, do not depend on sin, this is the purpose of pure conduct. When Ananda requested this, the Buddha said: Ananda, this is the pure conduct that is completely perfect, unmixed, completely complete, completely pure, and completely purified. Here, "good" refers to good friends, and "evil" should be understood as bad friends. Third, the explanation of leisure separated from the eight unfree states is: holding wrong views and being born as animals, as well as being born as hungry ghosts and hells, without the teachings of the Buddha and in borderlands, being born as barbarians and foolish stutterers, no matter which of the long-lived gods one is born as, are called the eight faults of unfree states. Having separated from these and obtained leisure, strive to prevent rebirth. Holding wrong views means denying the results of karma or slandering the Three Jewels, as well as being born as animals, hungry ghosts, and hells. Without the teachings of the Buddha means being born in a world where the Buddha has not appeared, or even if he has appeared, being born in a borderland where the Dharma is not flourishing as a barbarian. Being mentally foolish and dull, or stuttering, and becoming a long-lived god, whichever of these eight one is born as, is a fault of being unfree to practice the Dharma. Therefore, having separated from these and obtained leisure and freedom, strive to prevent the cycle of karma and afflictions. Some consider the long-lived gods to be the gods of the formless realm, and some consider them to be transformed gods devoid of the qualities of desire, but this is not very suitable and should be explained as the gods of non-perception. Here, the ten endowments are explained: obtaining a human body, being born in the center (referring to a place where Buddhism flourishes), having complete faculties, not committing evil deeds, having faith in the Dharma, the Buddha appearing and teaching the Dharma, the Dharma abiding and being followed, and having compassion for others. As stated in the summary, obtaining a human body, being born in the center (referring to a place where Buddhism flourishes), having complete five senses, not committing evil deeds, i.e., not committing the five heinous crimes, having faith in the Dharma, i.e., in the well-spoken Dharma.

Having faith in discipline. For the Buddha's teachings 21-701 Having faith are the five self-endowments. The Buddha came into the world, he taught the Dharma, the teachings abide, oneself [completely] enters the teachings, the ordained have robes and alms givers. Or there are also those who possess other Dharma-supporting conditions, these are the five other-endowments. Leisure that is free from the eight unfree states, and the five self-endowments are the same in essence, possessing the ten endowments is merely having the opportunity to practice the Dharma. On top of that, if one possesses the four wheels of leisure and endowment, then one will definitely practice the Dharma. The Faults of Samsara. Explaining the suffering of samsara, there are three parts: brief indication, detailed explanation, and summary of meaning. The first part is: King, impoverished by desire and death, and sickness and old age, etc., are many sufferings. The source of arising is samsara, one should generate aversion to it. Also, please listen to some of the faults here. King, calling the king in this way, being impoverished by desire is: seeking desire and not being able to obtain it, and the suffering of hope without result, these and sickness, old age, death, etc., are the source of arising of many sufferings that constantly arise without ceasing, one should completely generate aversion to samsara, a part of those faults of samsara, that is, roughly speaking {please listen. Second, detailed explanation. It is divided into explaining the general suffering of samsara, and explaining the suffering of each realm of beings. The first part is, in the sutra it says: Following the six sufferings of samsara that were spoken of, that is, suffering from uncertainty, suffering from not being satisfied, suffering from abandoning aggregates again and again, suffering from taking aggregates again and again, suffering from changing high and low, suffering from going alone without companions {etc. First, suffering from uncertainty is: father becomes son, mother becomes wife. Beings become enemies, those become friends. Because it becomes the opposite, therefore, there is no certainty in samsara. Even in this life, the situation of enemies and friends, etc., changes uncertainly, but mainly like rebirth, father becomes son, mother becomes wife.
