Should be abandoned. The types of obscurations are limitless, Among them, these five obscurations are specifically mentioned because it is very important for beginners to abandon them from the very beginning, so they are specifically mentioned. How do these obstruct virtuous actions? Attachment to desire and harmful intent obstruct all virtuous actions of body, speech, and mind. The others mainly obstruct meditation. The above explained the actual practice of the path of application, along with its related meanings. The actual practice of the path of application is: Faith and diligence, as well as mindfulness, Samadhi and wisdom, the five supreme dharmas. Strive diligently in this, these are, Called powers and faculties, and are also the summit. Here, briefly state the general meaning: the nature of the divisions of the path of application, the nature of the five dharmas such as faith, the difference between powers and faculties, and how it combines with the four paths of application. First, the divisions of the path of application are: warmth, peak, forbearance, and supreme dharma. Second, the nature of the wisdom of the path of application is: wisdom that focuses on selflessness. The other dharmas such as faith are its retinue. That is, in the common Lesser Vehicle, the manifestation of the selflessness of the person, small, medium, large, and extremely ultimate, are sequentially the nature of the four paths of application. In the uncommon aspect of the Great Vehicle, the manifestation of the selflessness of the object of grasping, large, medium, and small, and the manifestation of the emptiness of the grasper, are sequentially established as the nature of the four paths of application. Third, knowing that the wisdom of equipoise has benefits, faith arises from delighting in it, diligence is cultivated with a strong desire for equipoise, mindfulness is used to focus the mind on the object, samadhi causes the mind to abide on the object, wisdom clearly distinguishes and realizes the object, these are the nature of the five dharmas such as faith. Fourth, the difference between faculties and powers is: The meaning of the word "faculty" is to have control or autonomy over one's own object. That is, to gain manifestation of the object of the five dharmas such as faith, and to be able to freely use the manifestation gained with the mind, this is the faculty of faith and so on. After gaining manifestation, to be able to freely

The meaning of practice is: from cultivating faith, to the point where all minds become the essence of faith, to cultivating the meaning of wisdom's selflessness, where all minds become the essence of the wisdom that realizes selflessness, like that, are all the stages in between. The meaning of "strength" is to possess strength, not only to have mastery over one's own object of focus, but also to be able to overwhelm and destroy unfavorable aspects. Unfavorable aspects are: the unfavorable aspect of faith is disbelief, the unfavorable aspect of diligence is laziness, the unfavorable aspect of mindfulness is forgetfulness, the unfavorable aspect of samadhi is distraction, the unfavorable aspect of wisdom is perverse wisdom and wrong views, but mainly it is the nature of delusion, which is the delusion of not understanding the object of focus. Like that, the strength to prevent and stop the thoughts of unfavorable aspects with effort, or to destroy them by stopping them without effort, is called strength. Fifth, the four stages of the path of joining and the way of joining are: when a Bodhisattva on the path of accumulation cultivates the five dharmas such as faith with single-pointed samadhi and generates clarity, then clarity is attained. When one has not attained mastery over conditions and time, at that time one attains the heat stage among the paths of joining, and the five faculties are attained as small or ordinary and mediocre. Again, through prolonged cultivation, the clarity of the object of focus of the five dharmas such as faith increases, and one no longer depends on conditions such as pleasure and pain and gain and loss, and one can maintain focus on the object of focus for as long as one directs one's mind, then it is the peak of the path of joining, and the five faculties are supreme and special, and are excellent. These two paths of joining arise in this way in the state of samadhi, but in the interval after attainment, it is not the strength to mix the thoughts of unfavorable aspects with the mind against one's will. Again, through continuous focus on the object and cultivation, due to the power of the increasing clarity, in the post-attainment state, the thoughts of unfavorable aspects do not arise unless one pays special attention, this is called the path of joining of patience, and the five strengths are small or ordinary.
