Ra. There are eight yogas in total, including the yoga of sleeping, the yoga of rising, and the yoga of bathing. The first is to verbally recite and contemplate in detail, thinking in one's heart, "With eyes of compassion for beings." And "Vajra Holder, Lord of all limbs," appears in the sadhana of the Lotus Born. The others are summarized from the root tantras. Here, all dharmas are the nature of Suchness, the nature of the one taste body, the three eyes are red, which is great compassion clinging to beings. In the translation of Dromi, it says, "In the heart of loving-kindness, the limbs are black." This is translating the word for body as limbs. The body color is black because the great loving-kindness is unwavering. The four feet are generosity, kind speech, beneficial action, and consistency, which are the four ways of gathering disciples. These can destroy the skandha demons, the son of the gods demons, the Lord of Death demons, and the affliction demons, and can subdue those demons abiding in the minds of other beings, which are Brahma, Indra, Near Lord, and the Wrathful One, respectively. The front left foot is bent, which means that the wisdom realizing emptiness does not abide in the extreme of samsara, and the right foot is extended, which means that great compassion does not abide in the extreme of nirvana, and the two rear feet abide in the posture of half-lotus, which means that the union of skillful means and wisdom is free from the extremes of permanence and annihilation, abiding in the Middle Way, which is non-abiding nirvana. If all four feet are in the posture of half-lotus, then the two left feet are bent, not abiding in samsara, and the two right feet are extended, not abiding in the two extremes of nirvana, and the combination of these two symbolizes the union of skillful means and wisdom. The eight faces are the eight liberations. Among them, the two explained from mantra and paramita have the same name, but the scope of meaning is not very broad. Here, from the perspective of the common vehicle, among the eight liberations such as looking at form with form in the Buddha-field, the root face is the liberation of looking at form with form, the right face is the liberation of looking at form with formlessness, the left face is the liberation of the particularly disgusting, the upper face is the liberation of cessation, and the remaining four faces are the formless

There are four types of liberation. The sixteen hands represent the sixteen emptinesses. These sixteen emptinesses, although they could be like those appearing in the Prajñāpāramitā Sutra and its major and minor commentaries, the meaning is consistent with those appearing in Sambhuta and in the root verses and commentaries of the Madhyāntavibhāga, so the latter are adopted. These sixteen are: inner emptiness, outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, great emptiness, emptiness of emptiness, ultimate emptiness, conditioned phenomena, unconditioned phenomena, transcendence of extremes, beginningless and endless, non-abandonment, nature, the characteristic of self-nature's non-emptiness, all phenomena, non-entity, and the emptiness of the nature of non-entity. Among these, the first six are established from the perspective of what is seen and how it is seen, and the latter two emptinesses are established from the perspective of whether self-nature is empty or not empty. These eight are the eight hands on the right. The eight intermediate emptinesses are the eight hands on the left. The sixteen skulls are the sixteen great blisses associated with the sixteen hands, having the form of sixteen joys. The eight creatures held in the right hands are, as stated in the Vajra Tent: "Lung and tumor, and likewise madness, empty stomach leprosy and Śrījikā, liver and spleen diseases, etc., should be known in order as elephant, etc." As it is said, they represent the eight diseases of sentient beings, and their faces looking inward represent the elimination of these diseases by incorporating them into oneself. The eight deities inside the skulls on the left represent the eight powers, and their faces turned outward represent bestowing these upon sentient beings. Regarding this, some texts of previous lamas only write: "The power of body and the power of speech, and likewise the power of mind, the power of miraculous pervasive travel, the eight qualities of wish-fulfilling activity." Later Sakya explanations all identify the purification of hand symbols with these eight qualities. The size of the purity of the left and right seems equal. And some say: "Able to be subtle and light, able to act subtly, able to act and self-greatness, causing joy and satisfaction, all are under control, wish-fulfilling action and power are the eight meanings." Such as the subtle and light, etc.
