The fourteen root downfalls of a Bodhisattva, in terms of the five families, are: the samaya of the Tathagata family is to rejoice in all sentient beings with great compassion; the Vajra family is to accomplish activities through the action yoga of Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum); the Padma family is to teach sentient beings the Dharma that tames them according to their needs, while not moving from the yoga of the Perfection of Wisdom; the Ratna and Karma families are to satisfy sentient beings with the four kinds of giving, etc. These are explained in detail in the Vajrasekhara Sutra. Third, in the practice of realization, there are two: approach and accomplishment. The first is the three samadhis or four yogas. That is, according to what has been said in the past, first, like the way of attaining enlightenment in Akanishta, first is the application; in the middle, like the manifestation and explanation of the mandala on the top of Mount Meru, is the mandala supreme; finally, like turning the wheel of each family and manifestly gathering activities, is the activity supreme. These are the three samadhis. Generating oneself as the samaya deity of one's own family is yoga; inviting the wisdom being to enter is subsequent yoga; transforming all that is stable and moving into the yoga of one's own family deity is very profound yoga. With these three as the preliminary, focusing on appearance and emptiness is great yoga, which is said to be the four yogas. As it is said in the Shri Chakrasamvara commentary: "Here, by meditating on the five suchnesses, generating oneself as the nature of one's own deity is called yoga. Inviting the wisdom being to enter and especially delighting in becoming one with it is called subsequent yoga. Contemplating all that moves and does not move as the self-nature of reality is called all yogas. Meditating on yoga, subsequent yoga, and all yogas, whatever becomes one-pointed in mind is called very profound yoga." And so on. Meditating on those, gaining signs, is approach. Second, accomplishment is mainly relying on samadhi to accomplish supramundane siddhis, and relying on recitation to accomplish mundane and supramundane siddhis.

Accomplishment It is the common accomplishment of both. The first of these is: after gaining a clear appearance and firm conviction of the deity's appearance and its illusory nature, pleasing the deities with offerings pure in the three spheres. Then practice mudras, and after accomplishment, apply the mudras to various activities. Then, after obtaining special signs, practice the five superknowledges. After accomplishing that, if one practices in a way similar to the supreme, elaborate conduct of the consort practice as described by glorious Heruka, one will achieve supreme accomplishment. If it is not accomplished in one attempt, repeat it seven times. If it is still not accomplished, it will be accomplished through forceful application. The second is relying on recitation, where relying on the movement of breath is the conventional, with-object vajra recitation, and stopping the life force and meditating on oneself and the deity's mantra as unborn is the ultimate, without-object vajra recitation. For those with sharp faculties, there are two vajra recitations. For the Tathagata family, there is no sound. For the Vajra family, it is like the sound of a dragon. For the Padma family, it is subtle and clear. For the Ratna family, the recitation is very clear. For those with dull faculties, it is verbal recitation. Vajra recitation is the cause of transcendent accomplishments, and verbal recitation is the cause of worldly accomplishments. The fourth is: regarding the classification of the path to be traversed, the cause for obtaining the near cause is: the beginningless and endless mind, the Bodhicitta Samantabhadra, the basis for the appearance of all deities, mantras, mandalas, and mudras, which is the suchness of the mind. As it says in the Vajra Peak Sutra: 'རྒྱུད་ནི་རྒྱུན་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་སྟེ། །འཁོར་བ་བརྒྱུད་དུ་འདོད་པ་ཡིན། །' (Tibetan) meaning that the cause is the continuum. The fruit to be obtained is: the nature of the all-illuminating four bodies, free from all obscurations. The method for manifesting the fruit through that cause, the continuum, is: deity yoga associated with the four mudras, and directly realizing the suchness of the wisdom mind, each being one's own intelligence and wisdom. Among these, deity yoga is: as an antidote to the alaya consciousness, meditating on the yoga of the great body mudra, thereby manifesting mirror-like wisdom. As an antidote to the afflicted mind, meditating on the mind commitment mudra, thereby manifesting equanimity wisdom. As an antidote to wisdom, meditating on the speech dharma mudra, thereby manifesting discriminating wisdom.

As an antidote to consciousness, practicing vast activities enables the manifestation of accomplished wisdom. The wisdom of Dharmadhatu abides in the nature of all things. Having thus ascertained the connection between the ground, path, and fruition, if we explain the way the path arises, at its peak: Even if one strives diligently for hundreds of thousands of kalpas, there are four types of individuals who, though they practice in this world, will not achieve accomplishment. Those who have not generated Bodhicitta, those who possess doubt, those who do not act according to the teachings, and those who lack faith will not achieve accomplishment. As it is said, one who possesses Bodhicitta, has faith in the lineage, upholds the vows according to the teachings, and has complete faith in the path and the path-giver, is a practitioner who possesses these four qualities. Relying on approach and accomplishment, when the deity's clarity becomes extremely manifest, and recitation becomes skillful, this is the great accumulation path. At that time, when the clarity of emptiness is attained, the realization of the heat of the joining path arises. From this, obtaining the five superknowledges is the peak. From then until the attainment of the tenth bhumi, the manner of progression is in accordance with the sutras, except for the differences in the nature of the paths. However, if one wishes to attain it quickly, one should exert effort and be without interruption. Due to the difference between sharp and dull faculties, from a person with a lifespan of a hundred years, Buddhahood can be attained within a period of seven or sixteen lifetimes. Furthermore, after attaining the tenth bhumi, it is taught that one should practice the culmination of the four dhyanas. The samadhi of culmination is not the same as what is described in the Abhidharma for worldly individuals. This is a samadhi that combines illusion-like, vajra-like, and heroic qualities, and is named similarly to the first dhyana up to the peak of existence in some aspects, and is the intermediate and extreme relative to them. Furthermore, the immediate proximity of the first dhyana is without interruption, and the first dhyana has only two differences, and so on, for the three. For the four formless absorptions, one proceeds sequentially in forward and reverse order. For the transcendence of abandoning each one, after proceeding in forward and reverse order, again from the uninterrupted to the third dhyana, the fourth dhyana is divided into nine types, such as large, medium, and small, which is the culmination of the great among the great. When this is accomplished, that Bodhisattva is called "one who has accomplished all purposes," and he resides in Akanishta, a person.
