This sound is particularly excellent, hence the name Sumtsen City. The people in the city are all intoxicated with excessive wine. Taking pleasure in the nectar of good deeds, this place is the most excellent. May you, king, rejoice and revel, this place is none other than Akanishta. The toil of seeking from elsewhere is now exhausted. The mother of all Buddhas is Prajnaparamita. Unconditioned great compassion is now the father. The Vajra body has no worldly parents. The protector of beings performs the illusion of emanation. Thereafter, as soon as he was born, he was presented to the venerable Taklung Thangpa Chenpo Je Namgyal Tashi, requesting him to bestow a name. With an extremely joyful smiling face, he bestowed the name "Tashi Dondrup," a name that is meaningful and complete. He also bestowed protective cords and the blessings of tormas, etc., in a very profound and extensive manner. The mothers nurtured and raised him with pure conduct, like a lotus in a lake, or like a river swollen with rain, or like a waxing moon, the youthfulness of his body grew exceedingly radiant. Thereafter, even when he could just speak, he would prevent his other playmates from harming living beings and engaging in other evil deeds, and he would exhort them. He himself would diligently engage in Dharma practice and virtuous deeds, such as reciting mani mantras, and he would also encourage others. He would even give away his small clothes and other items to others. At other times, he would appear to be seated on platforms and thrones, acting as if he were teaching the Dharma and giving empowerments. Sometimes, his bodily posture was dignified, and his mind was also extremely focused. In short, this is like giving without being taught, speaking kind words, acting consistently, and benefiting beings, these are the four ways of gathering disciples. As it is said in the sutras, this is the uncommon Dharma of the Bodhisattvas. It is as it appears in the Sutra Requested by the Emanation of the Holy One. Furthermore, all his actions were performed with the awakening of the habitual tendencies of Dharma, such as performing the rituals of fulfillment and restoration, torma reversion, and practice offerings. And he would engage in them in a manner surrounded by many attendants. In short, all of this seemed to be the auspicious coincidence for his later activities, so say those with knowledge. Therefore, ordinary people.
