This great being, having attained a birth in such a noble lineage, and being adorned with the manifest greatness of both secular and spiritual virtues, possessing the qualities and activities of body, speech, and mind of a learned, disciplined, and virtuous person that are beyond comprehension, yet being completely free from any taint of pride. Those who have attended upon you for nearly forty years have never heard you utter a single word of self-praise. Even towards those of low status, you always treat them with respectful language, never doing anything with even a hint of contempt. Towards all other beings who have even a little bit of virtuous activity, even those who are objects of slander and curse, you always praise them far more than yourself. Towards even a single letter that is part of the support of body, speech, and mind, or even a dilapidated stupa, or even one who holds just a sign of the sangha, such as a saffron robe, you always show the utmost respect by joining your palms together. This is a liberation conduct that is even more holy than a holy being! Here it is said: You, the ocean of qualities, are like the ocean, never overflowing with the influx of a thousand rivers of qualities. Small-minded, inferior vessels, like earthen pots, are filled and ruined by a single drop of fame and gain. In order to conquer samsara, the masters of other illusions, through illusion and deception, have gained power and wealth, and use them in ways that are not in accordance with the Dharma. This punitive giving destroys the great path with poison. In the ocean of existence, some cunning deceivers, like white cows, gather pleasing spiritual friends, and then, through deception, cause hundreds of thousands of beings to be devoured in the desolate plains of the lower realms. Having abandoned the burden of thorns carried for one's own benefit, becoming a charioteer guiding others onto the chariot of benefit, abandoning deceit and deception, becoming a guide on the straight path, you are the sole protector of beings, I have reverence for you. Then, in the year of the bird (year uncertain, needs context), the great life-force of the teachings of Jikdral Tamche Khyenpa (འཇིགས་བྲལ་ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་པ, the Omniscient Fearless One), the precious Tenzin Drakpa (བསྟན་འཛིན་གྲགས་པ, Holder of Teachings Fame), was also invited to the great Dharma college of glorious Taglung Tang (སྟག་ལུང་ཐང་, Tiger Dragon Plain, located in present-day Mozhugongka County, Lhasa, Tibet), and the invitation was arranged by the inviters. The great Vajra Holder (རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན་པ, Vajra Holder) received from the system of teachings of the great teacher Jikdral (འཇིགས་བྲལ་, Fearless)...

He received empowerments into many mandalas of the four classes of tantra, and heard many teachings such as the vast ocean of combined instructions, the great shortcut to enlightenment in one lifetime, and the 'All-Illuminating Hidden Meaning.' With a wealth of offerings and honors, he made that master of wisdom very happy to accept him as a disciple. At that time, the previous lamas had resided there at one point, and in the interim, thirteen people had seized it with wealth, calling it 'Welcoming Four Forts,' but later it became ownerless. Considering the location of Taglung to be extremely important, he first completed the residence and so forth, and named it 'Dharma Fort, Victorious, Everlasting.' This is not merely a worldly location, but the three elements of earth, water, and sky are in the shape of a wisdom 'E' triangle, and the fort mountain itself is in the form of the letter Vam (Tibetan: ཝཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: वँ, Sanskrit Romanization: vam, Chinese literal meaning: seed syllable). Furthermore, the external and internal auspicious connections, geomancy naming, and so on, are particularly important for the precious teachings of glorious Taglung Thang. Because he saw with the unobstructed eye of wisdom, this manifested before long. Again, on one occasion, the holder of the mind's secret of the omniscient Phyogs las rnam rgyal, the incarnate 'Chi med 'od zer, who took birth intentionally, also came to see the master. Approaching his lotus feet, he received from the omniscient Ngag gi dbang po the empowerments of many mandalas of practice and profound samaya teachings, and with great respect, made him his root guru. Then, in the Wood Dog year, the Nepalese artisan Buddha pa and other five artisans arrived at his feet, and taking this as a proximate cause, they excellently created all the statues of the Bhagavan Shakyamuni Buddha of equal measure, the Sixteen Great Arhats, Hashang, Dharmatala, and the Four Great Kings, all of which were about the size of an arrow's length and of excellent craftsmanship. It seems that more than five hundred taels of gold were used for the gold thread alone. The distinction of other materials can be inferred from this. In this, relics of the body of Shakyamuni Buddha himself, which were extremely numerous, were enshrined, as well as the successive lamas of the Taglung Kagyu...
