Alas! Without abandoning attachment from the heart, engaging in asceticism to refute others and uphold one's own side. Whether it's solitary retreat, smearing with ashes, practicing austerities, living in gardens, or monks desiring food, ordination for the sake of fame, pretentious displays of arrogance. Ultimately, hoping that everyone will develop faith in oneself, expecting to become a victor, and acting as if temporarily conceding defeat, etc., are also using Dharma as a pretext to achieve worldly greatness. Emptiness and compassion are contradictory. Those are like food mixed with poison. From the very beginning, just like ordinary worldly people, both thought and action have become completely black, which is most reprehensible, yet it has not even become a place of false goodness, as if mixed with virtuous practice. 18-282 For those, one must repeatedly remember the thoughts of a small person as an antidote. Obstructing attachment to the happiness of gods and humans in the future, because the craving for the happiness of samsara has not been abandoned, one pretends to give charity, pretends to keep vows, and reluctantly does some orderly virtuous deeds, but only hopes for happiness with the fulfillment of food, clothing, enjoyment, residence, children, retinue, and power in the next life, then one has gone to the opposite side of emptiness and compassion. For that, one must repeatedly meditate on the thoughts of a middling person. Even if the mind has turned to Dharma, if there is only self-interest in mind, then it is contradictory to emptiness and compassion. Therefore, one must meditate on equality and exchange of self and others. Moreover, it is very important to clearly identify the target on one's own body and mind, not just on the level of understanding. The key to that is clear in mind training. It is also explained in detail in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara and the Sikshasamuccaya. Gyaltsab Je said: "The very nature of the mind that is equal to self and others, from finding love for others by cherishing oneself, in this way one knows that cherishing others is supreme, what is one's own benefit, what is the benefit of others?" Although repeatedly understanding the meaning of meditating on emptiness, there is no truth to it. Like an illusion, it has disappeared into the distance and has not reached the point. If coarse discriminations of enemies, friends, enjoyment, speech, etc., still remain, that is the opposite of emptiness and compassion, therefore on one's own body, mind, possessions, utensils, enemies, and friends, like an illusion

That wisdom, to be certain and to practice from the depths of one's heart is very important. That is also one session. Furthermore, leisure and endowment are difficult to find, death is impermanent, the suffering of samsara, the law of karma, faith in the Dharma, love, compassion, the mind of enlightenment, meditating on the two selflessnesses, etc., sometimes practice in order in each day or each session, sometimes practice in reverse order, sometimes practice alone, sometimes practice mixed and confused, sometimes focus on practicing on the things that are harmful to the mind that should be abandoned, sometimes practice those that are thought to be easy to practice. This is also one session. In daily practice, mainly practice these four points: constantly remembering impermanence, being cautious by thinking about the meaning of karma, generating compassion for all sentient beings in the three realms of samsara, and abiding in the reality of non-elaboration. Practice the others as auxiliary. When practicing this Dharma, associate with virtuous lamas or good friends. Reading or listening to the scriptures during breaks between sessions can also enhance the effect of practice, generate certainty in the Dharma, and increase faith. In particular, for the teachings of the Kadampa forefathers, the treatises related to the Lamrim, just observing, focusing, and thinking carefully about their meaning is the most important. This is also one session. The latter four points are methods for learning daily practice, removing obstacles, and enhancing effects. It is not necessary to divide them into specific practice sections. Even if they are divided into specific practice sections, there is no conflict. From that, how to connect with the supreme fruit of enlightenment. Third root chapter. From that, the method of achieving supreme enlightenment is: to understand by widely listening to the great treatises. It is not possible to explain in detail here. Its essence is as the master Aryadeva said: "Discipline and giving are for the benefit of others, diligence and patience are for oneself, meditation and wisdom are the cause of liberation, compassion accomplishes all meanings." And "These seven without exception, at once with the perfections, the inconceivable realm of wisdom, can attain the position of the protector of the world." As it is said, it means that through generating the mind of enlightenment and practicing the six perfections such as generosity, naturally
