Cessation, Like Jambudvipa, one kingdom, one yojana, one krosa, one fathom, one square foot, one finger joint, from one grain of barley to the finest dust, if analyzed, each preceding one cannot be established. Even the atom, when analyzed as before, ultimately nothing can be established. If one cannot be established, many cannot be established, and so on, as mentioned before. In short, it is like this and that. This is a house. This is a field. This is grain. This is wealth. This is crops. Similarly, the clinging to mountains, plains, water, kingdoms, and so on, is merely an appearance of a collection that is not truly established. It is merely giving different names through the mind and clinging to them as truly existent. In reality, not even a little is established, so train in this understanding. Meditate on the outer world as emptiness, this is the sixtieth practice of mind training. Furthermore, all outer and inner phenomena, visible and audible, tangible and obstructive, of oneself and others, are contained within the five elements: earth, water, fire, wind, and space. All movements of mere awareness are contained within consciousness. Among these, the four elements, when examined minutely, cannot stand alone but are mixed together. Even the atoms that form their basis of existence cannot be established because they are mixed with other elements. They exist only in mutual dependence; there is no instance where they can stand independently. What is called space is merely a name imputed by the mind to the absence of these tangible things; it has no function and no true existence. Consciousness is also merely a temporary phenomenon of conditions, impossible to define. Therefore, all outer and inner phenomena, in their mode of existence, are primordially unestablished. Even if appearances continue uninterrupted in the deluded mind for a while, they are like illusions because they lack inherent existence. Meditate in this way. Meditate on all outer and inner phenomena as emptiness; this is the sixty-first practice of mind training. Moreover, what is called non-existence is merely posited by the mind in dependence on things; needless to say, how could it be in the ultimate truth? It cannot even be established as an object of acceptance and rejection in the relative truth, because nothing exists. Although previously we thought that all phenomena of appearance and sound are primordially unestablished, there is no such thing as a dharma of emptiness for something that is separated from its root from the beginning, just like the son of a barren woman who was never born from the beginning.

Therefore, it is impossible to say "the child of a barren woman." Because such emptiness is also relied upon by non-emptiness and established by the mind. Existence, non-existence, being, non-being, etc., for anything that is not established, the mind does not cling to anything, but rests openly and without discrimination. If a thought arises, look at its nature and meditate on being free from clinging. Combine the previous object of meditation with this one, and it is important to meditate repeatedly, clearly and briefly. This is the ultimate object of meditation for non-elaboration. This is the second part of the object of meditation. Then combine all of these and meditate, briefly remembering the previous understanding. For all these containers and contents of oneself and others, the clinging to I and mine is also not established. There is no author, it only appears dependent on the aggregation of interdependent origination. All of these, whether one or many, are not established, so they only appear in the face of illusion. As far as reality is concerned, nothing is established, and if you observe well, then the so-called non-establishment and non-existence are just that the mind has newly created a definition of existence, and then it appears to be contrary to this, it is just the establishment of the name of non-existence and non-establishment. In this way, by observing each other, when the object of meditation disappears, abide in equanimity without thinking anything. The previous object of meditation, do not let that state of being free from all clinging to subject and object disappear, abide in non-discrimination. If that disappears, do not just enter into the non-discrimination of the disappearance of the state of emptiness, because it is necessary to repeat the previous one, so it is very important to know the boundary of whether it disappears or not. At first, it seems that the state of emptiness cannot stay for a long time, but once you find some clues of experience, it will become longer and longer. This is precisely the abiding of focusing the mind on the object of meditation, and the close abiding of continuing it. Whenever a thought arises, cut it off immediately, this is the removal and abiding. Then the time becomes longer and longer, this is the close abiding. Then remembering the merits of samadhi, cultivating joy, so that you like to practice more, this is taming. Sometimes remembering the faults of distraction, etc., distraction, etc. naturally stop, this is pacification. These two are the two ways of generating joy and generating aversion. Hope and fear, etc.
