Karma. Born. It is born from great loving-kindness. It is born from being pleasing. It is born from knowing kindness and repaying kindness. It is said to be born from meditating on the concept of mother. These are the seven causes and effects, so it should be understood that the term seven causes and effects is not a new invention of later times. Thinking about the meaning of cause and effect. Secondly, thinking about the meaning of cause and effect, there are three: cultivating loving-kindness, cultivating compassion, and cultivating the mind of enlightenment. Cultivating loving-kindness. Firstly, the so-called root mother refers to the mother who gave birth to this life, and this mother is very kind to me. Initially, she carried me in her womb for nine or ten months. During that time, she cherished me more than her own life. She is the one who gives the human body, life, and lifespan. From the time of birth, she benefited me with her body, placing me on the tips of her ten fingers. Approaching the warmth of her flesh. Feeding me milk. Tempering food with her tongue. Wiping away impurities with her hands. She raised me from being like a worm, unable to do anything. She also benefited me through speech. 18-251 Calling me by sweet names. Praising me even when there is nothing to praise. Speaking of virtues even when there are no virtues. She also made me happy with various methods of enticement. She also benefited me through her mind. Thinking only of how my child can live a long life, how he can be free from illness, how he can become a respected person, whether he can have a good reputation, and whether he can be successful. Initially, she was immensely happy when I was able to sit up, knew how to stop, and could speak a word or two. When I grew up, she gave everything she had to her child, not only without the slightest reluctance, but also cultivating joy. Even if she gave wealth and servants filling three thousand worlds, she would not feel it was enough. My mother has benefited me so much. How kind and loving she is to me! How wonderful it would be if this mother could be happy and joyful at all times and in all places. I should place this mother in supreme happiness, so I contemplate. The thirty-sixth contemplation. Cultivating loving-kindness towards the root mother is the root of the contemplation of loving-kindness. It is said that birth is also excellent, and it is crucial to have experience arising from this. Then, the way my mother benefited me in this life is like that, and this mother in one life.

To the south is Kashmir, to the north are the Uyghurs and Tajiks. Meditate on the three types of beings residing in those great kingdoms. Then meditate on the three types of beings of the entire 18-253 Jambudvipa. Then meditate on the abodes of the pretas below Jambudvipa, as well as the abodes of the eight hot hells and the eight cold hells. On those, meditate as before. Likewise, on Purvavideha, Aparagodaniya, and Uttarakuru, the four continents, above, as before, filled with the three types of beings, and below, with various beings of the three lower realms, also meditate as before. On the four levels of Mount Meru, there are gods of the four great kingly families. At the summit are the gods of the Thirty-three. The interior of Mount Meru is hollow, and below the waterline, there are cities where the chief Asuras reside. On those residing in those places, meditate as before. Then, up to the seven golden mountains and the outer iron mountain range, above the waterline, there reside gods, yakshas, and animal beings. Below the waterline reside Asuras, pretas, and various animals. In the seven play-oceans and the outer ocean between those, nagas, Asuras, and ordinary animal beings reside, so numerous that there is no space between them. On all those, meditate as before. Among animals, there are three types of animals with miraculous powers: the garudas who travel in the sky, the kinnaras who travel on the ground, and the nagas who travel underground or in water. On those, also meditate specifically. With the scope of meditation up to that point, directly to the great free golden earth below, up to the outer iron mountain range. Above, meditate up to the Thirty-three below, completely. Above that, add the Nirveda, Tushita, Nirmanarati, and Paranirmitavasavartin heavens in order, and meditate as before. Then, add the Brahma Parisadya, Brahma Purohita, and Maha Brahma heavens, which are equal to the extent of the world of the four continents, the three places of the first dhyana. At this time, it is said: From 18-254 this point on, in all these places of the form realm, there are only gods of the form realm, and none of the other five types of beings. There are also no gods of the desire realm. Only the gods of each individual place reside. In general, below the Brahma world is the continent.
