You and others rely on many sutras of the first turning of the wheel, as well as the chapter of Maitreya's Questions and the Five Hundred Prajnas, etc., many occasions of the intermediate turning of the wheel, and many sutras of the final turning of the wheel, such as the Four Sutras, and thereby establish the coarse, common tenet that reveals the true establishment of the ultimate truth of Dharma-nature. Similarly, relying on the Tathagatagarbha Sutra, the Great Drum Sutra, the Sutra Benefiting Angulimala, the Garland of Glory Sutra, the Great Nirvana, the Cloud of Jewels, and the various miraculous displays of perfect peace, etc., many sutras that reveal the ultimate definitive meaning, the very realm of reality itself, the Tathagatagarbha, the Dharmakaya, the eternal and unchanging, and all the ultimate qualities of the Buddha, which from the very beginning abide as inherent nature, these uncommon and subtle tenets are made secret teachings. The author of the treatises that clarify the meaning of the sutras is the Regent Holy Maitreya, who in the Ornament of Clear Realization spoke of the coarse Dharma language in the sutras alone. In the Ornament of the Sutras, the Discrimination of the Middle and the Extremes, and the Discrimination of Dharma and Dharmata, it is explained clearly and extensively. The subtle meaning of the uncommon tenet of the Essence Sutra is definitively established in the Uttaratantra. The commentators on the treatises are the brothers Asanga and Vasubandhu. In Asanga's commentary on the Uttaratantra, the uncommon tenet is explained very extensively and clearly. In general, the Madhyamaka of Other-Emptiness is explained in all the treatises of the two brothers, and in Vasubandhu's commentary on the Twenty Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita, the Destroyer of Harm, and in the commentary on the Discrimination of Dharma and Dharmata, it is explained very clearly and extensively. In general, the tenet of Other-Emptiness was widely explained by many good disciples and lineages, such as Dignaga and Buddhadharma. The uncommon tenet was difficult for others to comprehend, so it was propagated by transmitting it from ear to ear to the best disciples. Later, because in India this Madhyamaka of Other-Emptiness and the tenet of Mind-Only were mixed together, most Tibetans became confused about them. In Tibet, although many translators translated the treatises, the purity of the tenet...

Ra Lotsawa Gzu Gawai Dorje and Tsankha Bochhe, etc., were practitioners of the Maitreya's teachings. In particular, the one who spread the profound Other-Emptiness doctrine with the roar of a lion 18-159 across the earth was the omniscient great scholar Dolbu Sherab Gyaltsen. Secondly, in the Differentiation of the Middle and Extremes, it says: "The unreal, totally imagined exists; in it, the two do not exist; emptiness exists in it; in it, it also exists; it is neither empty nor not empty; therefore, everything is explained; because it exists, because it does not exist, because it exists, it is the Middle Way." As it is said, in terms of establishing the conventional truth, the consciousness that appears in various ways is merely a false imagination, which exists conventionally. However, for it, the apprehended aspect and the apprehending aspect of appearance are merely conceptual constructs, so they do not exist even conventionally. Therefore, the conventional truth is also liberated from the two extremes. By merely accepting that the totally imagined exists conventionally, it is liberated from the extreme of non-existence and the extreme of annihilation. Because it transcends all dependent phenomena and superimpositions such as the apprehended aspect and the apprehending aspect, it is liberated from the extreme of permanence and the extreme of existence. The wisdom of emptiness, free from elaboration, truly exists in that unreal consciousness as its nature. In the case of defilement, for that nature, that consciousness is a phenomenon with adventitious, separable defilements. The defilements to be abandoned exist as unreal entities. Therefore, the ultimate truth is also said to be free from the two extremes, because emptiness is truly established, and all phenomena included in the apprehended and apprehending aspects, such as the totally imagined, are unreal. It transcends the extremes of existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation. Therefore, the conventional apprehended and apprehending aspects are merely the arising of deluded appearances, and apart from that, there is no basis for being established by their own nature, so they are empty of their own nature. Since it is impossible for knowable things to be established as other natures distinguished by the duality of self and other, they are empty in every way, so they are not non-empty. That wisdom nature is established from the beginning by its own nature, 18-160 and because it never changes, it is not empty of its own nature, but is always existent. If you ask, "Then in the sutras, isn't the Dharmadhatu also said to be empty?" Generally, emptiness
