Both exist and simultaneously distribute imprints. That power takes effect from the second moment onwards. When hatred exists, the mind also appears in that state. Although it appears, it does not necessarily follow immediately. When that state appears, it does not stop, and when it disappears, it leaves a seed, which is truly wonderful. The cause and effect of generating the essence have a sequence, but there is no certainty in generation and dependence. Because there are many ways to stop the cause, it does not contradict the treatises of the Lord of Reason. Even if different kinds arise simultaneously, it is because one very clear mind weakens the power. It does not arise from anything other than the alaya consciousness. Because there is no ability before it does not exist, and it does not approach later. All causes are pre-existing. This is also considered to generate the essence. If the afflicted mind does not exist, like destruction, the corresponding virtue cannot exist. There is no difference between the two samadhis. The constant existence of self-grasping is also unreasonable. The sutra says: The afflicted mind always arises and ceases together with afflictions. From the proximate afflictions, there is no liberation, no non-liberation, and liberation does not change. The noble one said: That which enters the true meaning, which constantly becomes an obstacle to the mind, which arises in all times, is considered to be unmixed ignorance. Therefore, it is believed that there are eight consciousnesses. Imprints, abilities, and bad habits are just different names. That kind of coarse, internal, and unclear seed, as well as the cause and seed generator, are called manifested or proliferated imprints, which are the seeds of mental wandering on objects. The imprint of the view of the perishable or the view of self is the self-grasping divided by self-grasping itself. The imprint of karma or the limb of existence is the seed of birth, aging, sickness, death, prosperity, decline, happiness, and suffering. It can be understood through various means such as afflictions. In short, it is summarized into two kinds of seeds: co-emergent and pervasive. The imprint of the grasper and the grasped is also the grasper and the grasped. Alternatively, there are two kinds of imprints: the cause-congruent and the fully ripened. The arising of virtue from virtue, etc., is the cause-congruent, and the arising of unspecified from virtue, etc., is the fully ripened. Unspecified and afflicted minds are corresponding, and uncontaminated virtues are only considered cause-congruent. Except for the latter, there is no freedom. Samsara

It is the consciousness that causes rebirth, and the basis of samsara and the path, the Alaya consciousness. Its essence is the pervasive nature of inner clarity and awareness. Its cause is the accumulation of all new and old habitual patterns. Its result is the manifestation as places, meanings, and bodies. Its function is to hold all new and old seeds. Its transformations possess all dharmas, such as the seven consciousnesses. Its object is itself and all results. Its aspect exists in the manner of possessing all abilities. Its divisions are considered to be two: the maturation and the seed. The Alaya consciousness is the master of the seven consciousnesses. The sense faculties are the basis of the sense consciousnesses. The afflicted mind is considered the master of the mind consciousness. Its objects are also the five senses, dharmas, and the Alaya consciousness. The immediate cause is the similar kind that immediately follows. The immediately preceding one is also considered as such, but it is still a cause. The venerable one also said: The unreal, completely conceptualized is, mind and mental factors, the three realms. In that, seeing meaning is consciousness. By that distinction, it arises from the mind. One is the consciousness of conditions. The second is the one that closely engages. Close engagement and complete engagement, and its acting agent arises from the mind. In its own realm, it appears as dualistic. Ignorance and afflictions arise together. The arising of conceptual thought that enters is, one who has completely abandoned the two substances. Obtaining the distinction of the object is, because it dwells in its own essence. That itself does not appear as dualistic. It enters like skin and an arrow. The mind is the one that appears as dualistic. Likewise, attachment and so on, and faith and so on, are considered to appear. Afflictions and virtuous dharmas are neither existent nor non-existent. The mind is the appearance of various things, and enters into various aspects. In that, the appearance is existent and non-existent. Therefore, it is not a dharma. From conceptual thought, karma and suffering arise. Karma and suffering also create habitual patterns. From virtuous dharmas and conceptual thought, non-conceptual thought arises. That destroys the seeds of dualistic appearance. From ignorance and conceptual thought, karma and suffering are reversed. Or, by weakening the dualistic appearance, ignorance is reversed. Having abandoned that, karma and suffering are free from action and agent. The way of samsara's entering and reversing is known in that way. Definitive emergence is the door of the two selflessnesses. Thus, this is the fourth chapter, a well-spoken explanation of establishing the collection of the eight consciousnesses. The fifth chapter, the five dharmas, the three natures, and dependent origination.
