Determination. The five dharmas taught in the Mahayana are: the nature of the movement of sound and mind, the collection of places of expression is the cause, to which, in Ladakhi, the collection of words is called name. Mind and mental phenomena are all discriminations. Suchness is beyond the realm of expression, it is the only object of activity of the wisdom of the noble ones. True knowledge has two types: meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment. Habitual tendencies, manifested images, various signs, and what is completely imputed are all called causes, and nature and images are also causes. From discrimination and non-discrimination, clarity and non-clarity, two causes, with signs and without signs, are established. Similarly, the five dharmas themselves are divided into five by their differences. The name of things and the name related to them, collection and difference, famous and not famous, the differences of names are not excluded from these six. Although the differences of discrimination are endless, either discrimination arising from signs and non-sign discrimination, or afflicted and non-afflicted, or entering into objects, seekers, and individual discriminations, are summarized into three discriminations. Discrimination and wisdom are substantially existent, name is nominally existent, and most causes are also like that. Suchness is ultimately existent. The latter two are ultimate truths that conform to the ultimate truth, and the other three are established as conventionally existent. Name and cause are not the same or different, and suchness and the four dharmas cannot be spoken of. Discrimination is the object of activity, nature is the cause, and the terminology of name is the nature of the place. Discrimination takes the cause as its object. The latter two are also the characteristics of object and subject. Cause is imputed, and name is completely imputed. Discrimination and wisdom are of other-powered nature, and suchness is the unchanging, perfectly established reality. The establishment of cause pervades all four truths, and name is only included in the truth of suffering. Except for the truth of cessation, the other three are discrimination, and suchness is what the four truths do not establish. The path truth that focuses on everything is true wisdom. The two pairs of grasper and grasped are ultimately one, the first two are merely conventional, the third is said to be the conventional truth itself, and the last two are different names for ultimate reality. Dharma is called the dharma that explains meaning, and is also called things.

Or the basis of names and characteristics. All knowable objects that are dependent are these five. It is thoroughly conceived as the five dharmas. All bases of names and characteristics involve three natures. The imputed aspects conceived through speech are the thoroughly imputed, the various consciousnesses arising from their own causes and conditions are other-powered, and the reality that is primordially established is the thoroughly established. The mind that universally imputes 18-40 is conceptual thought. The other is habit, and by its power, the alaya-consciousness appears as various consciousnesses. The meaning of primordiality is solely the nature of reality, and it differentiates everything through the mode of relation. The Venerable One's verses: How does one know the meaning of what is said? The reason is that habit, and the appearance of meaning from it, is the characteristic of the thoroughly imputed. How are names and meanings, whatever appears as meaning and name? The reason for non-veridical thought is the characteristic of the thoroughly imputed. Having three aspects each, the characteristic of grasper and grasped, non-veridical thorough conception is the characteristic of the other-powered. What is non-existence and existence itself? Existence and non-existence are equality, un- quiescence and quiescence, and non-discrimination are the characteristic of the thoroughly established. Imputation and other-power, and thorough establishment itself, are also so. For the sake of meaning, for the sake of non-veridical conception, it is taught because the two do not exist. The three natures are permanence and impermanence, existence but not only, existence and non-existence are only, the nature is considered to be three. Nāgārjuna also said: External action and the cause of activity, that is the nature of imputation. Likewise, other-power is internal, the arising of the five consciousnesses. Since it is not an object of imputation, ultimate truth is considered to be thoroughly established. The teacher said: By whatever conceptual thought, whatever things are conceptually thought, that is the nature of the thoroughly imputed, and it does not exist. The nature of the other-powered is conceptual thought, which arises from conditions. Establishment is earlier than that. Whatever is constantly non-existent, the thoroughly imputed is of three kinds, namely, the cessation of nature and the dependence of terms. Like self and grasper and grasped, east and west, etc. The basis of imputation is the reason for thorough conception, and the imputers are also considered to be the distinctions of conception. All natures and differences.
