I do not make distinctions in killing and resentment, nor do I make unexamined abandonment, because I possess immeasurable abandonment without afflictions. Not only that, but also possessing a mind of equal love for all sentient beings, I abide without offerings and curses, etc., because I am always of a compassionate nature. Thus, mentioning compassion, abandonment, and love also implies joy. In short, these two verses explain the four immeasurables that are the cause of abiding for the benefit of others. Thus, may I always teach the Dharma and abide, and may I liberate all beings from the ocean of existence. The Actual Prayer for Increase Thus, the growth, expansion, and flourishing of these roots of virtue depend on the complete dedication with vast prayers. Therefore, the third part of the root division, the actual prayer for increase, begins with "Wherever the perfect Buddhas abide." Among these, there are three: brief explanation, detailed explanation, and benefits. Brief Explanation The first is a single verse, which is: Whatever the intention of all those perfect Buddhas who now abide in the world, and those who have shown the manner of passing away, and those who will appear in the future, and whatever the words they speak, and whatever the deeds they do, may I also learn like them, and may I practice the conduct of enlightenment, that is, the conduct of enlightenment is the conduct belonging to enlightenment, that is, all those that have become the cause of perfect enlightenment and the activities of the time of fruition. Therefore, whatever all the Buddhas of the three times have done, may I also do, and may I practice all the conduct of enlightenment. Here is the collection of all prayers. Detailed Explanation The second is the detailed explanation, which includes prayers related to the main practice, prayers related to ultimate emptiness, prayers that extensively explain the six perfections, and prayers for the ultimate fruit. Prayers Related to the Main Practice The first is the six perfections, etc., which are the six perfections that encompass all the practices of a Bodhisattva, and for the benefit of others.

From the aspect of transformation, the four objects of gathering cause the beings of the six realms to be placed in liberation, and manifest the nature of power and strength, the six superknowledges, thereby attaining the unsurpassed Bodhi. That is to say, the six perfections, the four objects of gathering, and the six superknowledges are the main contents of practice. Among them, the six perfections and the four objects of gathering are not different in nature, but only in the way they are classified. For the practice of Bodhi, from the perspective of self-cultivation, it is divided into the six perfections, and from the perspective of altruistic behavior, it is divided into the four objects of gathering. If the fundamental classification of altruism is explained separately, it is the six superknowledges. The first of these is: the perfection of generosity, the perfection of discipline, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom. These also have the characteristics of being vast, without contamination, of great significance, and inexhaustible. The virtues of the Bodhisattvas should be understood as these four. As it is said, for generosity and so on, each one must do the most difficult things, then other things need not be mentioned. To learn and follow all the contents of one's own learning is the virtue of being vast. To abandon the expectation of reward and retribution, as well as the thought of clinging to self and other afflictions, is the virtue of being without contamination. To dedicate the roots of virtue that one has done to other beings, and to cause other beings to practice generosity and so on, to make them generate faith in emptiness and the mind of Bodhi, to rejoice and dedicate, this is the virtue of great significance related to altruism. The six, such as generosity, the giver, and the receiver, are each held by the wisdom in which the three wheels are not manifested by their own nature, this is the inexhaustible virtue. From the initial practitioner, striving to cultivate and achieve the four virtues is the cause or practice of reaching the other shore. After obtaining the fruit, the four virtues arise naturally, which is profound and vast, difficult to measure, and is the true perfection held by the path. Summary: To contradict and initially enter, to increase and greatly achieve, the final destination is a different direction, to cut off between these.
