The obstacles that hinder are: attachment to desires, distraction, confusion, and the generation of diseases, etc., which have the function of killing; similarly, they can cause one to regress from the good path and be associated with bad asceticism and wrong views, etc.; that is, the lords of Paranirmita-vasavartin and so on. Once a Bodhisattva has attained the body of Samadhi, he himself will not be affected by the actions of demons, but others will. Being led by the faults of karma and afflictions is similar to this, but the time to abandon these two is when one attains the middle forbearance of Dharma-ksanti on the path of seeing. The qualities of being unsoiled or unattached are: wherever one dwells and whatever worldly actions one performs, no matter how one acts, just as a lotus dwells in water but is not attached to water, although one constantly dwells in samsara, one is not soiled by the faults of samsara—karma and afflictions, and birth, old age, sickness, and death, etc.; and just as the sun and moon move unhindered in the sky, causing crops to ripen and medicines to grow, etc., and perform many benefits for others, but do not seek reward, and have no pride or discrimination; so too, Bodhisattvas constantly perform great benefits for sentient beings through the four kinds of giving, etc., but do not seek reward and have no pride, may I also act in this way. Eleventh, placing sentient beings in happiness: May the extent and directions of the Buddha-field be such that it can pacify the suffering of the lower realms; placing all beings in happiness; and benefiting all beings. As great as the extent of the Buddha-field and the ten directions are, may it pacify all the suffering of all beings, represented by the lower realms; placing all beings in worldly happiness and the bodies and perfections of gods and humans; not only that, but may it also constantly benefit all those beings with the Dharma of liberation and Nirvana. Twelfth and thirteenth, acting with endless emanations and benefiting beings: is the conduct of a Bodhisattva.

Completely accomplishing, acting in accordance with the conduct of sentient beings. All excellent practices can be shown, and can be practiced in all future kalpas. Through the door of one's own Bodhi conduct, the six perfections can be completely accomplished, and by knowing the realms, inclinations, faculties, and habitual tendencies of other sentient beings, acting in accordance with their conduct, acting by means of whatever should be tamed, showing the form of a householder to those who should be tamed by a householder, and showing the form of a renunciate to those who should be tamed by a renunciate, likewise to Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Pratyekabuddhas, Shravakas, Brahma, Devas, Rishis, Chakravartins, Kings, etc., with various forms, various conducts, and various teachings, one obtains the ability to ripen sentient beings. For the sake of others, one who has the nature of being unwearied in samsara, thus acts to benefit sentient beings, the Dharma of excellent practices that are in accordance with one's own realization, is shown to sentient beings, and they are made to abide in that practice. Thus, one's own practice is perfected, one obtains the ability, and one teaches the Dharma, these three benefits for oneself and others, not only are practiced for a time, but can be practiced in all endless future kalpas, may it be so accomplished. Secondly, in the aspiration from the perspective of the uncommon secret of Bodhisattvas, it is connected with the complete companionship of friends and with pure aspirations. Always relying on and pleasing the excellent spiritual friend. By abiding in the practices spoken of in the common context, one obtains the Samadhi and Dharani of the Dharma doors. Through the power of the two accumulations, one obtains the ornaments of the Bodhisattva. Having practiced the conduct of a Bodhisattva in the presence of the Buddhas of infinite realms, again, when the practice is extremely ripe, the ability of the three, complete, ripe, and purified in all places, and the equality of object and time, and the ability to enter all the Buddha's words, and from the perspective of showing all the conduct of abiding in the position of the Buddha's successor, making aspirations in accordance with the order.
