It is only a manifestation, not to mention abiding in the true nature. If measured by conventional consciousness, since it does not even exist in the face of conventional consciousness, it is called emptiness of non-existence. Therefore, through the sequence of hearing, thinking, and meditating, it is only necessary to recognize non-existence, so it is said to be knowable. Other-emptiness is the mind that mistakenly believes in something that does not exist, and appears as real in the mind. Therefore, because it is necessary to abandon the illusionary appearance including the cause, it is what is to be abandoned. Because it appears clearly to conventional consciousness, it is the emptiness of existence, which in Chinese is called "Sada," meaning existing things. The perfectly established is the basis for purifying defilements. Although it originally exists in the nature of all phenomena, because it has not been realized in this way, it is necessary to purify defilements, and it must be directly realized and attained. Therefore, it is the basis for purification, what is to be attained, what is to be touched, and its own nature is also ultimate truth, also emptiness free from elaboration, and also abides in the nature of all phenomena. Because it is originally empty due to temporary defilements or illusionary appearances, it is called self-nature emptiness. In this way, if you do not understand the difference between these three emptinesses, then you will not be able to understand the direct expression of the many emptinesses mentioned in the sutras of the three turnings of the wheel, let alone understand the intention. If you understand this, you will become proficient in all direct expressions and intentions. Similarly, in the Prajnaparamita Sutras, Subhuti also said that the great vehicle of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva is inner emptiness, outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, ultimate emptiness, conditioned emptiness, unconditioned emptiness, emptiness beyond extremes, emptiness without beginning or end, emptiness without abandonment, self-nature emptiness, self-characteristic emptiness, emptiness of all phenomena, emptiness without object, emptiness of non-entity, self-essence emptiness, emptiness of non-entity self-essence. That's what it says. So the Heart Sutra of Prajna...

If someone asks: Does this sutra completely explain the sixteen emptinesses? The answer is: Although this sutra only explains emptiness as its main subject, it does not explicitly state the distinctions of the sixteen emptinesses in its literal words. However, it implicitly reveals the completeness of the sixteen emptinesses. For example, the sutra says "no eye," etc., indicating internal emptiness; saying "no form," etc., indicates external emptiness; it shows the absence of the eighteen realms, thereby preventing the connection between the apprehended appearance and consciousness, as well as the basis, thus indicating internal and external emptiness; by negating form, etc., it indicates great emptiness; the sutra says "no wisdom," therefore it prevents the wisdom of the path and its aspects, thus indicating ultimate emptiness and emptiness of emptiness. The sutra says "no path," indicating conditioned virtue, i.e., conditioned emptiness; saying "no cessation," indicates unconditioned emptiness; showing no attainment and no non-attainment, because merit is inexhaustible, thus indicating unabandoned emptiness; the sutra says "no suffering and origin," in order to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings, thus indicating non-dispersive emptiness; if suffering and origin are said to be samsara, then by negating it, it prevents attachment to samsara as something to be abandoned, thus indicating beginningless and endless emptiness; the sutra says that all Buddhas of the three times rely on this profound Prajnaparamita, thus indicating the nature emptiness of extremely pure lineage; through the benefits of mantras, it shows the qualities of the form body and the Dharma body, in order to accomplish the marks and powers, etc., thus indicating self-characteristic emptiness and all phenomena emptiness. In this way, there are fourteen emptinesses. The selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena are the emptiness of non-things, which is shown at the beginning and end of the text. The self-nature emptiness of non-things, with emptiness as a special basis, prevents form, etc., and also clearly shows the great ultimate other-emptiness through other statements. Unobtainable emptiness has the same meaning as the emptiness of non-things, and self-nature emptiness has the same meaning as the self-nature of non-things. The difference in the opposite aspect is: the emptiness of non-things means that it is not established from the perspective of the entity, while unobtainable means that it is unobtainable in the entity of wisdom.
