There was one who strived on the earth. There was one who was able to newly compose many words. 17-203 On one occasion, about five hundred great people gathered for a festival. Since each of them had to be praised with a new song of praise, he sought wisdom on how to compose new words. He avoided repeating the previous compositions and sang the songs in a different way. There, those who praised with new words were given great rewards, while those who praised with repetitions were given only a small amount of food. After the festival, he thought, "There must be a way to compose new words without hindrance." As he was contemplating under a tree, a yogi who had completely liberated his lineage came there and asked, "Are you thinking like this?" He developed great faith and replied, "Yes, please take me as your disciple." He prostrated at the yogi's feet and prayed. The yogi gave him a small teaching on the generation and completion stages of Hevajra (Tibetan: བདེ་མཆོག་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ,Sanskrit Devanagari: श्रीहेवज्र,Sanskrit Romanization: Śrīhevajra, Literal Chinese meaning: Auspicious Hevajra). After that, he also stayed awake all night and constantly meditated. During the day, he would sometimes hide in deep ravines to meditate, and sometimes he would finish his work. After many years had passed, on a desolate road, a female dog was sick and on the verge of dying. Then, a wolf came and was about to eat the dog. Although he tried various ways to protect it, it seemed impossible. To save the life of the female dog, he cut off his left hand and gave it to the wolf, who ate it and left. Then, suddenly, the female dog disappeared and became Vajravarahi (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ་ཕག་མོ,Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्रवाराही,Sanskrit Romanization: Vajravārāhī, Literal Chinese meaning: Vajra Sow), placed her hand on his head, and merely by bestowing empowerment, he attained accomplishment. After that, he only sang songs in forests and cities, and placed many beings in the state of maturation and liberation. He became known as the accomplished Gaya-pa, the singer. 17-204 Acharya Black Vajra was from Kalinga, from the place of Kalingara. After studying at Somapuri and becoming a scholar, once in a city, many children gathered together. One child pretended to meditate, and the others asked him secret questions. He also pretended to have clairvoyance and make predictions. He saw that.

As a cause, the teacher also, in the shops, regarding what was in the merchants' boxes and pockets, he could not even guess with his mind, thinking that although he had studied the five sciences, he did not understand even this small thing. He became tired of the work of a scholar and secretly fled at night. After that, he prayed to Khasarpaṇi and stayed for six months. In a dream, he was told, 'If you go east from here, there is a city called Hizili. In the fishing village there resides Vajravarahi. If you pray there for seven days, she will show her face.' He did as he was told, and on the dawn of the seventh day, an old fisherwoman carrying hundreds of fish on her back was walking shakily. The teacher knew that she was the Blessed Mother, so he prostrated at her feet and prayed. The old woman turned into a young maiden. When he prayed again, she transformed into her true form and resided in the center of fiercely burning flames, blessed the tantra, bestowed teachings, and generated samadhi and clairvoyance. There he dug a pit, surrounded it with fish bones, studied and meditated on the tantra, and at another time attained accomplishment. When this teacher was staying in a hotel in the fishing village, three leaders of yogis came with about a thousand yogi followers. He made a gathering feast offering to them. The three teachers looked from the door where this teacher was staying and saw nothing but a piece of meat, a piece of fish, and a small wine bottle, and they felt that the place was also very narrow, saying, 'You cannot satisfy them, and this place cannot accommodate them.' The teacher said, 'Let's see how much it can accommodate.' When a thousand yogis entered, they did not even fill a corner of the house. He handed over those utensils and said, 'May you enjoy these.' The yogis ate and drank from those items for seven days without exhausting them. They prostrated at the feet of the Black Vajra Teacher, asked for forgiveness, and left after abandoning the leftovers they could not eat. Kalahamsa Kumara was born in the city of Pataliputra. In his childhood, he lived only by the irrigation ditches of the fields. The color of his body was...
