I, near Kalinga, stayed in the land of Ka in various ways, doing the work of benefiting beings. Then, wanting to go to the island of Singala, the master himself placed his feet on the sea and walked without sinking. Those of the retinue who had attained abilities also went by their own magical powers. Some walked on the sea by spreading leather cushions. Some turned cities upside down in the sea and placed their feet on them to walk. Some walked making bird-like gestures. Some sat on fish and walked. Some walked in the sky without touching the water, and so on, in various ways. From Kalinga to Singala, the width of the sea is hundreds of leagues (dpag tshad). Spending one or two hours, they arrived in Singala. There was a king named Ra-tha-ba-la. He and his retinue, seeing these miraculous displays, had even greater faith. They prostrated at the master's feet and made extensive offerings for a long time. In that island, before that, the vehicle of secret mantra had not spread. At that time, the doctrine of the Vajrayana was spread. Many also attained accomplishment. The king, ministers, householders, merchants, and so on, consecrated many newly built temples with great blessings. Then he also empowered the king and built a secret mantra temple. That is called Kṛṣṇa vihāra (梵文:Kṛṣṇa vihāra). Until now, the blessings are great. According to one's own fortune, if one can erect a sand mandala and pray for seven days to a month, even the blind can obtain eyes without defects, and barren women can be transformed into fertile ones, and so on. In that island, before that, a demon called Tshangs pa'i srin po (梵天魔) always caused harm. That demon also appeared during the day in the form of a whirlwind, encircling boys and girls, horses, elephants, and livestock, etc., causing many to die in an instant. At night, it roamed in houses and emitted light, killing people and livestock. Sometimes it transformed into the form of Brahmins and monks, taking people's lives, etc. There, the master expelled those demons and bound them by oath, so that harm has ceased until now. Also

From then on, various harms from the race of Rakshasa women would no longer occur. After that, on an island called Damido, a place filled with many vicious Dakinis, the great Rakshasa woman of the Dakini race, named Bishvarupi (Tibetan: བི་ཤྭ་རུ་བི་ཏེ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: विश्वरूपिते, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: viśvarūpite, literal Chinese meaning: various forms), also known as Variegated Mother (སྣ་ཚོགས་གཟུགས་ཅན་མ་), leading five hundred Rakshasa attendants, transformed into the form of women and resided there. Through their emanations, they devoured hundreds and thousands of humans and animals every day in Jambudvipa and its subcontinents. To subdue them, the teacher, along with his retinue, sailed across the ocean with various miraculous powers and arrived at the shore of that island. The chief mother, Variegated Mother herself, transformed into the form of a woman resembling a goddess and waited at the crossroads. When the teacher arrived there, she asked: Yogi, where are you going? The teacher replied: I have come to subdue Bishvarupini (Tibetan: བི་ཤྭ་རུ་པི་ནི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: विश्वरूपिणि, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: viśvarūpiṇi, literal Chinese meaning: various forms). She said: She is one who possesses excellent form and limbs, is kind-hearted, and benefits many beings; it is not right to cause her harm. The teacher said: No, because she harms hundreds and thousands of people every day, she must be subdued. She said: She possesses great magical powers; how could you possibly subdue her? The teacher said: You will see. At that very moment, the five hundred Rakshasa attendants also appeared. The chief mother herself also transformed into a very terrifying form and came in a menacing manner. The teacher pointed a threatening finger at them, and blood flowed from all the gates of the Rakshasa chief mother. All her joints broke, she fainted unconscious, and became delirious. All the attendants were also tormented by severe fainting and pain. There, the teacher gave instructions and made vows, swearing not to harm sentient beings. The Rakshasa woman, Variegated Mother herself, prostrated at the feet of the teacher. When the teacher travels on the road, if desired, I will go as a young mount for all to see. When resting, I will also remain as a seat cushion. Most of the time, I will follow in an invisible form and display various miraculous powers.
