After that, (the dakini) said, "In the eastern region, there is a master named Yeshe Shenyen (Wisdom Friend), he will grant you the desired accomplishments." Then, the master gradually went to the east. He asked all the people in the city, and all the places inside and outside, about Yeshe Shenyen (Wisdom Friend), but no one could tell him. He went to the groups of Caryas (Wanderers) to ask, but no one else could tell him either. Once, there was an old yogi there who said, "That was one of our Carya (Wanderer)'s very powerful masters, but now we don't know where he has gone, it has been many years." After that, he searched again and again. Once, in the shadow of a stupa near a forest village, there was a person lying there dressed as a monk and a householder. He asked that person, "Have you seen Yeshe Shenyen (Wisdom Friend)?" That person said, "I know, I am going to him too. He said that from here to the east, in a city called Tipura." (Shiva Sange) requested guidance. He said, "If you can carry these things of mine to this forest, I will tell you." So, (Shiva Sange) carried heavy goods and incense and left. That monk went first. Shiva Sange was caught by robbers on the road. When the goods were opened, it was found that there were only stones. The robbers were very angry and beat him again. When he fell to the ground like a corpse, that master came again, washed him with water and recited mantras, and immediately restored him so that he could walk. When he arrived in Tipura, (Shiva Sange) requested guidance from the master. The master led him to the edge of a lake, where the master's own image appeared, and said, "Yeshe Shenyen (Wisdom Friend) is this person." He also went as instructed and developed a very good samadhi. Then (Shiva Sange) requested to be accepted. The master said, "What are you arrogant about? You even say that you want to be accepted without seeking fame and fortune." He beat him many times in anger. There, he said to a wealthy patron, "If I work as your servant, how much will you pay me?" That person said, "I will give you one gold dinar for each day." He worked as his servant for a year. It is said that the farm slaves of Indians are very miserable. There, there were others who gave him many things, and he offered all of these to the master. Again, the master's...

之后，有一次在森林深处，有一头母水牛被拴着鼻绳。 （上师）说：“把这个牵走。”上师先走了，寂静（ཞི་བས་）牵着它走，主人在后面追赶，追上了。主人狠狠地抽打它，像死尸一样倒在地上。上师来了，想办法救活了它。还有一次，上师的物品，像草房一样的东西，被委托放在那里。师徒二人去了城市，回来的时候，所有的草房都燃起了熊熊大火。上师似乎非常担心自己的物品。于是（寂静）问道：“那我来拿吗？”（上师）说：“去吧。”于是（寂静）毫不犹豫地冲进火中，取出了上师的物品。所有的手脚都被烧到了骨头。整个身体都变成了水泡。即使因此而死，也认为是为上师的物品而死。没有产生一丝后悔之心。据说，重要的物品也没有什么，只有一个水壶，一个那日格列（ན་རི་ཀེ་ལེའི་）的杯子，一个木制的坛城，一个嘎巴拉。在那里，心想一定会死的时候，上师用咒语和药物救活了他，没过多久就痊愈了。寂静（ཞི་བ་སྦས་པའི་）心里想：为了医治我这个恶劣的身体，上师耗尽了药物，这不好。以后为了上师，自己做了很多苦行，都是为了自己的利益。因此，从上师那里接受咒语和药物是非常不应该的。发誓说：“不能让上师做我的仆人。”还有一次，上师想去拉康（ར་ཁང་）的地方，于是上了船。不知怎么回事，从水中央出现了一条长着牙齿的鱼。担心它会伤害上师，就用一把短矛刺它。那条鱼咬了寂静（ཞི་བ་སྦས་པའི་）的脚。在水中央，鱼差点把他拖走。想起了上师，鱼就松开了他，鱼游走了。在那里，虽然伤口疼痛难忍，但还是没有懈怠地为上师服务。过了七天后的黎明，不知怎么的，所有的疼痛都消失了。还有，在东方拉康（ར་ཁང་）的地方，上师住在一个岩洞里。寂静（ཞི་བ་སྦས་པས་）必须从各种城市寻找物品等等，有很多事情要做。那个地方是河边。

After that, once in the depths of the forest, there was a female buffalo tied with a nose rope. (The Guru) said, "Take this away." The Guru went first, and Zhiwa (ཞི་བས་) led it away. The owner chased after them and caught up. The owner whipped it severely, and it fell to the ground like a corpse. The Guru came and found a way to revive it. Another time, the Guru's belongings, something like a grass hut, were entrusted to be placed there. The Guru and his disciple went to the city and returned. All the grass huts were burning fiercely. The Guru seemed very worried about his belongings. So (Zhiwa) asked, "Shall I go and get them?" (The Guru) said, "Go." So (Zhiwa) fearlessly rushed into the fire and took out the Guru's belongings. All his hands and feet were burned to the bone. His whole body was covered in blisters. Even if he died because of it, he thought it was for the sake of the Guru's belongings. Not a single moment of regret arose. It is said that there were no important items, just a water pot, a cup of Narike (ན་རི་ཀེ་ལེའི་), a wooden mandala, and a kapala. There, when he thought he would surely die, the Guru revived him with mantras and medicine, and he recovered in no time. Zhiwa (ཞི་བ་སྦས་པའི་) thought in his heart: It is not good that the Guru has exhausted his medicine to heal this bad body of mine. From now on, doing many austerities for the Guru is only for my own benefit. Therefore, it is very inappropriate to receive mantras and medicine from the Guru. He vowed, "I will not make the Guru my servant." Another time, the Guru wanted to go to the place of Rakang (ར་ཁང་), so he boarded a boat. Somehow, a fish with teeth appeared from the middle of the water. Fearing that it would harm the Guru, he stabbed it with a short spear. The fish bit Zhiwa's (ཞི་བ་སྦས་པའི་) foot. In the middle of the water, the fish almost dragged him away. He remembered the Guru, and the fish released him, and the fish swam away. There, although the wound was very painful, he did not slacken in serving the Guru. On the dawn of the seventh day, somehow, all the pain disappeared. Also, in the place of Rakang (ར་ཁང་) in the east, the Guru stayed in a cave. Zhiwa (ཞི་བ་སྦས་པས་) had to go to various cities to find supplies and so on, and there were many things to do. That place is by the river.
