He took the vows of a monk at Malaśīla. There, he consulted with paṇḍitas and yogis on all the important teachings. He also mastered all the empowerments and teachings of Vajrāsana. Later, he served as the abbot of Vajrāsana for a long time. After that, he intended to go to the southern region, so he traveled to Sauri with about thirty disciples. The king of Sauri dreamed that the Mahābodhi image of Vajrāsana said, "Do not send my teachings to the southern region." When he woke up, the king learned that the teacher and his entourage were going to the southern region and needed laborers to transport scriptures and statues. Understanding the meaning of the dream, he repeatedly requested the teacher to stay there. The teacher, being very compassionate, stayed in Sauri, and thus became known as Sauripa. This teacher perfected the generation stage and saw the faces of many yidams. Especially in India, he was known for possessing important teachings. He transmitted the teachings to the teacher Jikmé Jungné. Jikmé Jungné transmitted them to Śubhakaragupta. Śubhakaragupta transmitted them to Daśabala. Daśabala transmitted them to the yogi Vajraśrī. Vajraśrī transmitted them to the teacher of the time of disputes, who was known as Omniscient Chöjung Pal. Chöjung Pal transmitted them to Sangye Drakpa. Sangye Drakpa transmitted them to Rinchen Drakpa. Rinchen Drakpa transmitted them to Rātigupta. The history between them is not described in detail. Like the source of jewels, this is the story of the generation stage lineage, the sixth story. ༄། །The Sixth Descent. The occasion of the story of the transmission of the explanation of the Tantras. The sixth descent is the transmission of words. Although it is said to be the transmission of words, it is said to be the transmission of the explanation of the Tantras. Among them, the explanation teachings of many Tantras were held by Nāropa and Maitrīpa. Some were transmitted by Nāgārjuna to Āryadeva, Āryadeva to Rāhula, Rāhula to Chandrakīrti, Chandrakīrti to Prabhākara, Prabhākara to Jñānakīrti, and Jñānakīrti to Śāntipa. Also, many explanations of the Tantras were transmitted by Mañjuśrīmitra to the Brahmin Jñānavajra, and thus the lineage was passed down, as well as through Bodhivajra. Furthermore, glorious Jñānapāda transmitted the teachings to Rabzhi Shenyen, Rabzhi Shenyen to Palde, Tsillupa, and Nakpa Kyé.
