Like the victorious Buddha himself. Furthermore, Brahmins, listen! The Buddha strives to benefit the world, his Dharma is non-harming. Trust in it, follow it, that too is said to be non-harming. He performed deeds of benefit for a long time, and from that, having attained enlightenment, he always practices non-harming benefit. He also instructs his retinue to strive for benefit. Neither Brahmin nor Shramana, even to words heard by others, there is no talk of harm done by this. This is the conduct of universal virtue. The fierce one delights in dwelling in charnel grounds, eating human flesh, entrails, and bones, cruel and delighting in killing living beings, this is taught in the Dharma of the Great God. The scriptures are also defiled by harm, and those who deeply trust in it also always enjoy harming. Which wise person would approve of this? If bravery were a virtue, then lions, tigers, and so on, would they not also become objects of offering? Peace of mind is virtue itself. This is the first lineage. Like that, by repeatedly reciting the lineage through five hundred ways of showing the difference between faults and virtues, those two Brahmins also understood the truth, and thus became even more devoted to the Three Jewels. The Brahmin's son, Geva (dge ba, virtue), whose faith was already present, increased even more. All three of them became of one mind and went to their own home and said to their mother: We have understood the qualities of the Buddha, and we want to build a temple where the image of the teacher resides, please show us the place, mother. Then, according to the instruction of the mother, the Brahmin Gyalwa (rgyal ba, victorious) built a temple of the image at the place of the Dharma wheel in Varanasi. The monasteries where the teacher himself resided, etc., are actually of the nature of emanation, therefore they appear as a condensation of emanation, but in the appearance of sentient beings, due to faults such as dilapidation, at that time there was nothing left but traces. Therefore, the Brahmin Lek Gye (legs rgyal, good victory) built an image and a temple in the Bamboo Grove (Venuvana) of Rajgir. The younger Brahmin Geva (dge ba, virtue) built a Gandhola (gandha hola, 香室) at Vajrasana (金刚座, Bodh Gaya), that is, a perfumed chamber together with the Great Bodhi (Mahabodhi). The craftsmen were divine craftsmen who emanated in human form and came and did it. The materials for building the Great Bodhi there were

The retinues, the artisans, and the virtuous Brahmins were inside. It was decreed that no one else should enter for seven days, and six days passed. The mother of the three Brahmin brothers came and knocked on the door. There, with one day left before the seven days were up, (they) said, "We will open the door tomorrow morning." The mother said, "I am going to die tonight, and now in this world, 16-435 I am the only one who can see the face of the Buddha, and later others will not know whether this image is the same as the Tathagata or not. Therefore, you must open the door." As they said this and opened the door, the artisans disappeared. There, upon careful examination, (they found that) this was completely like the teacher, but there were three distinct differences: it did not radiate light, nor did it teach the Dharma, it only sat, and did not engage in the other three activities. (People) said this, (thinking) it was an image like the real Buddha. It is said that because the seven days were not complete, the subtle differences in craftsmanship were not finished, some believed it was the right foot's big toe (that was unfinished), and some believed it was the hair curling to the right (that was unfinished), so those two places were built later. However, the Panditas said that the two points of not having body hair and the clothes not touching the body were not completed. It is said that Pandita Sa-wang Zangpo also said the same. That night, the Brahmin woman ཛཿ (Tibetan, Devanagari: जः, Romanized Sanskrit: jaḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Zha) also passed away peacefully. Not long after that, the virtuous Brahmin went on a road, and found a self-illuminating jewel ཨསྨ་གརྦྷ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: अश्मगर्भ, Romanized Sanskrit: ashmagarbha, Literal Chinese meaning: Stone Womb). He thought, if he had found it before the Great Bodhi (image) was built, he could have made it into an eyeball, but he didn't find it. As he thought this, immediately a natural hole appeared in the place of the eyeball. He began to divide that (jewel) into two halves, and that (jewel) itself became two identical ones and was placed in the places of the two eyeballs. Similarly, a radiant ཨིནྡྲ་ནཱི་ལ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: इन्द्रनील, Romanized Sanskrit: indranīla, Literal Chinese meaning: Indra Blue) jewel was found and placed in the urna between the eyebrows. By its power, the Great Bodhi temple of King Rathika-yan was always illuminated very brightly by the light of the jewel even at night. After that, the three Brahmin brothers always provided for the livelihood of five hundred monks each in those three temples.
