A large wooden stake that a person could carry was erected, and he was instructed, "Until this turns to ashes, you shall provide sustenance to the Sangha." Thus, for twelve years, he offered all necessities to the Sangha. Later, the wicked attendant novice repeatedly requested to have intercourse with her, but she remained silent. Once, she said, "When this sandalwood stake turns to ashes, we can meet." That wicked novice burned the sandalwood stake with fire until it turned to ashes, and the goddess immediately disappeared. Then, the master, to compensate for this, established one hundred and eight Mahayana Dharma seats in one hundred and eight temples. There, he erected an image of Mahakala and entrusted him with the protection of the Dharma. Furthermore, when the Bodhi tree at Vajrasana (Bodh Gaya) was harmed by elephants, two stone pillars were erected behind the Bodhi tree, and for many years no harm occurred. When harm occurred again, an image of Mahakala riding a lion and holding a club was erected on the stone pillars, which proved effective for many years. When harm occurred again, it was surrounded by a stone lattice, and one hundred and eight stupas with deities were built outside. An iron fence was built around the stupa of Palden Drepung, and one hundred temples were built inside the iron fence. When a great flood occurred on the eastern side of Vajrasana (Bodh Gaya), large images of Thubpa (Shakyamuni) were carved on seven rocks, facing outwards, as a dam, which averted the flood. They are known as the "Seven Thubpas of the Water Dam." Since the name of the dam is "Chulon," it is said that they were imitating the reflection in the water, which is utter nonsense. To say that this happened at the time of subduing King Udayana directly contradicts the Vinaya Pitaka. Both of these clearly reveal their own truth. At the same time as these events, in the land of Uti Bishi, King Munja, along with a thousand attendants, attained the accomplished body of a Vidyadhara. In a place called Dodhahari in the western Malava region, King Bhojadeva, along with a thousand attendants, disappeared, and so on. Among all those who entered the path of mantra, there was not a single one who did not attain siddhi.

At that time, the Holy One invited many dharanis and the hundred thousand verse Prajñāpāramitā, and the Śrāvakas said that it was composed by Nāgārjuna. Since then, no new Mahāyāna sūtras have appeared. In order to refute the arguments of the Śrāvaka realists, he composed the Five Treatises on Reasoning and so on. In Tibetan histories, it is said that a monk named Bhikṣu Sukhavihārin composed a treatise called Tarka-alaṃkāra (Ornament of Reasoning) with twelve hundred thousand ślokas in order to refute the Mahāyāna, but this is a mistaken rumor. Three Indian historical documents agree that it was twelve thousand ślokas. He also built many temples in the eastern regions of Pāṭa-be-sa-de-pu-kkaṃ, Oḍiviśa, Bhaṅgala, and Rāḍha. At that time, in Magadha, a Brahmin named Suviṣṇu built one hundred and eight temples at the auspicious Nālandā. In order to prevent the Dharma of the Greater and Lesser Vehicles from disappearing, he established the Dharma source of one hundred and eight Mother Holders. In his later years, the Holy Nāgārjuna went to the southern region and subdued King Sukhavihārin, and upheld the Dharma for many years. In the southern region of Drāvali, there were two Brahmins named Madhu and Supramadhu, who possessed unimaginable wealth. The teacher debated with them on Brahmin doctrines, and the Brahmins could not reach even one percent of the teacher's wisdom in the four Vedas and the eighteen branches of knowledge. The two Brahmins said: Why should the son of a Brahmin, who is proficient in the three Vedas and has mastered all the treatises, become a Śākya renunciant? The teacher spoke of non-Vedic praises and Dharma praises, which made them even more convinced, and they offered to the Mahāyāna. The teacher gave them vidyā-mantras, but the first one did not attain Sarasvatī, and the second one did not attain Vasudhārā. Both of them offered to two hundred and fifty Mahāyāna Dharma speakers, and the first one even wrote the hundred thousand verse Prajñāpāramitā in one, two, or three days. Therefore, he gave many scriptures to the monks.
