Oh. The royal palace. In རྒྱས་ལྡན་ (Gyasden, meaning vast and complete), the son of King Kanishka made hundreds of offerings to Arhats and other noble beings. In addition, he held festivals for tens of thousands of monks for five years. In the eastern city of Metok (Sanskrit: Puṣpa, meaning flower), there appeared a Brahmin named Biduḥ. He built countless volumes of the Tripitaka and gave them to the monks. Each of the three Pitakas had one hundred thousand shlokas, and he built thousands of such sets. For each of these, he also provided unimaginable offerings. In the city of Pāṭaliputra, there appeared an Arhat named Dusmijur, the noble Ashvagupta, who meditated on the eight liberations. By his teaching of the Dharma, Arhats such as the noble Gawa Yeshe Nyen appeared, and many realized the truth. In the west, there appeared a king named Laksha Ashva, who also made great contributions to the teachings of the Buddha. In the southwestern region of Saurashtra, there was a Brahmin named Brahman Rigden. At that time, he heard that the great elder Arhat Nanda, who was born in the Angar region, was a holder of the Mahayana Dharma, so he invited Nanda to hear the Mahayana Dharma. At that time, countless virtuous friends who taught the Mahayana Dharma appeared simultaneously in various regions. All of them had heard the Dharma from the noble Avalokiteśvara, the Lord of Secrets, Mañjuśrī, Maitreya, and others, and had obtained the samādhi of the Dharma lineage. Great monks such as Abhitarka, Vigataragadhavaja, Dibyagaragupta, Rahulamitra, Jñanadala, and the great Upasaka Sanghadala, and about five hundred other Dharma teachers appeared. The Noble Ratnakuta Sutra has one hundred thousand Dharma teachings and one thousand assemblies; the Noble Avatamsaka Sutra has one hundred thousand Dharma teachings and one thousand chapters; the Noble Lankavatara Sutra has twenty-five thousand verses; the Jewel Garland Sutra has twelve thousand verses; the Samadhiraja Sutra has twelve thousand verses, and so on. Some volumes of these Sutras were also taken from various places such as the realms of gods, nagas, gandharvas, and rakshasas, especially from the realm of the nagas.

It happened in a way that it mostly occurred, and most of those teachers were invited by that Brahmin. When King Laksha Ashva heard this, he developed great faith and wanted to invite those five hundred preachers, so he asked the ministers: How many preachers are there? Five hundred. How many listeners are there? Five hundred. The king thought: There are many preachers, but few students. So he built five hundred monasteries on the top of a mountain called Abu, and invited one preacher to each of them, providing them with all kinds of necessities. Five hundred of the king's own retinue, who were very faithful and intelligent, became monks and were allowed to listen to the Mahayana teachings. Then the king wanted to write scriptures, so he asked: How many Mahayana scriptures are there? Although it is generally impossible to measure, there are now one hundred thousand sets of one hundred thousand. The king said: Although there are many, they must be written. So he wrote them all and offered them to the monks. Later, at the end of time, these scriptures were invited to the glorious Nalanda Monastery. There, the three thousand five hundred monks who practiced Mahayana were all holders of countless sutras, with unobstructed wisdom, and had attained patience, only slightly showing the play of miracles and clairvoyance in front of people. Therefore, when the fame of Mahayana spread in all directions, the Shravakas could not accept it and slandered that Mahayana was not the Buddha's teaching. Those Mahayana practitioners were all Yogachara Cittamatrins, and they had previously become monks in each of the eighteen schools, so they mostly lived with them, and even if there was only one Mahayana practitioner among thousands of Shravakas, the Shravakas could not suppress them. At that time, in Magadha, two brothers appeared, the Brahmin High Priest Accomplished Lord and the Joyful Giver, whose family deity was the Great Lord, and both of them were proficient in both internal and external doctrines. However, the High Priest Accomplished Lord remained in doubt, while the
