The root of the pearl vine or the history of the pearl-bearer is very relevant here. Through the door of a small mansion, a Shakya nobleman enters. Inside the house, the nobleman joins his palms together. In the lower part of the space in front of him, he speaks to his distinguished wife who is seated there. The woman places various ornaments in the house. The glorious woman, the mistress of beings, is surrounded by all the Shakya women as they go to listen to the Dharma from the Bhagavan. One of them looks at her pearl necklace and sits. The nobleman's wife sends a servant girl to her house. She walks with a letter-bearing palm leaf in her hand. On the way, she is struck and killed by a hailstone. It would be good to also depict the ordination of Nanda in connection with this. The Buddha arrives for alms at the door of the mansion. From inside the mansion, Nanda, in royal attire, holds excellent food. His queen, Pundarika, draws a circular water pattern on the ground where the clothes are laid. Outside the house, Nanda follows the Buddha's form, carrying a begging bowl filled with excellent food. Inside the temple, in the presence of the Buddha, Nanda is adorned with the robes of ordination and his hair is cut. On one side, after he has been transformed into the appearance of an ordained monk, he is shown using a whisk. On one side of either the right or left side of that temple, he is present near a bent tree branch. The Buddha also goes there. He grabs the edge of the Buddha's Dharma robe and ascends into the sky. A mountain forest is depicted. A tree with a blind monkey is drawn. Near it, the Teacher and Ananda are conversing. Again, he grabs the edge of the Teacher's Dharma robe, and the Teacher ascends into the sky. The Teacher is seated on one side of the summit of a jeweled mountain, representing the peak of Mount Meru. In the other four or five mansions that are drawn, there are male and female deities {assembly [formation]." } ``` ============================================================
