Secondly, he holds a container filled with various items and a staff, wearing a deer skin upper and lower garment, and adorned with the Brahmanical thread. Behind him is the blue Vishnu, with his lower two hands holding a wheel and a white vajra, adorned with all peaceful ornaments. On the left side, the first is yellow Indra, with a single horizontal eye on his forehead, and his lower two hands holding a worldly nine-pronged vajra and a jewel, peacefully adorned with silk and jewels. Behind him is red Ishvara, slightly wrathful, with his matted hair adorned with the moon. His lower two hands hold a damaru drum and a trident, wearing a tiger skin lower garment and a snake necklace, with a skull in the center of the necklace, and the remaining ornaments are jewels. Thus, all four deities have their first two hands joined in prayer. If depicting patrons and others, depict them as appropriate. If there is ample space, depict minor retinues such as bodhisattvas, bodhisattva mothers, monks, nuns, men, women, nagas, and yakshas, as appropriate. In the sky, depict a rain of golden flowers, swans, ruddy shelducks, peacocks, cranes, etc., holding strings of jewels, strings of flowers, and ears of grain in their beaks, symmetrically on the left and right. The sky above is high, with many gods and goddesses holding various offerings from within the clouds. In any case, it should be depicted as magnificent and majestic, inspiring faith simply by seeing it. Thus, this written copy of the biography of Shakyamuni Buddha was determined by Kunga Nyingpo (Kunga Snyingpo) in the great palace, at the behest of the sovereign who enjoys the earth, the complete Victorious One. Svasti! May it be auspicious! In order to place all beings on the ground of supreme joy, may the excellent biography of the incomparable Buramshingpa (Vimalamitra), with vast wisdom that sees the essence of meaning, like a great ocean from which water flows, through the power of endless practice, may all sentient beings throughout the reaches of space attain the conduct of the King of the Shakyas, and may they attain the same state without delay!
