In a place called Shakya, there was a deity worshipped as the family deity of the Shakyas. Whenever a boy or girl of the Shakya clan was born, it was customary to first pay homage to it. The king also began to do the same, 16-25 inviting the young Bodhisattva into a palanquin made of four kinds of precious jewels. The king and ministers, along with many attendants, entered the place of Shakya. When the Bodhisattva entered the place of Shakya, even those Shakya people who were originally fierce, harsh, arrogant, and noisy became gentle and peaceful in their behavior, remaining silent. They became like ascetics who were well-versed in asceticism. The Shakya people, who were difficult to tame, also realized that abiding like ascetics was due to the power of the Bodhisattva, so they named him Shakya Muni. After that, when he came near the place of the Yaksha Shakya Increase, that Yaksha came out of the dwelling with his own form, and all the people saw him touching the Bodhisattva's feet with his head and prostrating. (Thinking) even the Yaksha, the family deity of the Shakyas, touched his feet with his head, this young man is truly the god of gods! Therefore, one of his names was called the god of gods. After that, the young Bodhisattva was entrusted to eight wet nurses, and they served him with all comfortable utensils. The father also often held him in his arms and paid attention to him at all times. At that time, the king summoned all the astrologers, including the Brahmin astrologers, and asked them. Most of them knew that the Bodhisattva had the thirty-two major marks of a great man on his body, and the destination of a great man with these marks is only one of two possibilities, there is no other. If he stays at home, he will become a Chakravartin king; if he goes forth from home to homelessness, he will become a Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha, a Buddha. They prophesied in this way. Seven days after the Bodhisattva was born, his mother passed away. She was immediately reborn into the magnificent 16-26 tribes of the Thirty-Three Heavens. From that time on, the Bodhisattva was: his appearance was never tiring to look at, his voice was pleasant and melodious, his eyes never blinked, and day and night they were always bright and clear.

Looking intently, he distinguished each of the profound words and letters. Eighth, the great sage's prophecy, etc. Eighth, the great sage's prophecy, etc.: Thereafter, the sage without afflictions, together with his disciple Mibyin, set out to see the Bodhisattva. No matter how far he came by means of miraculous powers, when he approached Kapilavastu (ser skya), he was overwhelmed by the Bodhisattva's radiance and could not travel by miraculous powers, so he went on foot. When he reached the gate of the palace of Kapilavastu, he signaled to the gatekeeper. The gatekeeper informed the king, who greeted him with honor and invited him inside, offered him a seat, and made him happy with truthful words, asking: Great sage, for what purpose have you come here? The sage said: I wish to see your son. The king said: Now the prince is sleeping, please rest until he wakes up. The sage said: I wish to see the sleeping prince himself. Then, when the sage looked, he saw that the Bodhisattva's eyes were not closed and he was looking at various objects. The sage said: Horses of good breed sleep for a quarter of the night, like those who seek necessary things, sleep does not stay long in their eyes. Having said this, he also regarded the prince as a supreme person. Then, the chief of the mothers entrusted the prince to the sage, who examined him carefully and said to the king: O god, how have the diviners prophesied about this prince? The king explained in detail what the diviners had said before, that this great man has two paths, etc. The sage without afflictions said: The landowners and thinkers are confused, a wheel-turning king will not appear in the age of strife. This treasure of the supreme merit of Dharma, having overcome misdeeds, will become a Buddha. Furthermore, if the thirty-two marks were not so clear, he might become a wheel-turning king, but because they are so clear, he will become a Buddha. Then, the sage examined with his own clairvoyance, and saw that before the Tathagata turned the wheel of Dharma, he himself would die, and knowing that he would not obtain the feast of Dharma, tears flowed from his eyes.
