་ ལམ་དུ་སྟོན་པ་དྲུག་སོང་ནས་སྔར་ལྟར་སྨྲས་པས། དོན་འདི་ལ་ཁྱེད་ང་ལ་ལན་གསུམ་གྱི་ བར་དུ་ཟེར་ན། ཁྱེད་རྣམས་སྤྱུགས་ཏེ་བཏང་ངོ་བྱས་པས། དེ་དག་ཕྱོགས་དེ་ནས་སོང་སྟེ། རྒྱལ་པོ་འདི་ནི་གཽ་ཏ་མའི་ཕྱོགས་བྱེད་ཀྱི། མཉན་ཡོད་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོ་གསལ་རྒྱལ་དེ་ནི་གཟུ་བོའི་ ཞེས་ཐོས་ན། དུས་ལན་ཅིག་དེར་འགྲོ་བར་བྱའོ་ཞེས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་དུས་གཞན་ཞིག་ན། སྟོན་ པ་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ནས་མཉན་ཡོད་དུ་ལྗོངས་རྒྱུ་ཞིང་གཤེགས་ཏེ་རྒྱལ་བྱེད་ཀྱི་ཚལ་དུ་བྱོན་ཏོ། ། 16-156 དེའི་རྗེས་ཉིད་ནས་སྟོན་པ་དྲུག་པོ་ཡང་སོང་སྟེ། རྒྱལ་པོ་གསལ་རྒྱལ་གྱི་ཐད་དུ་ཕྱིན་ནས་ སྔར་བཞིན་བརྗོད་པས། རྒྱལ་པོས་དེ་ལྟར་ན་བདག་གིས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་ཞུས་ཏེ་བྱ་ཡི་ རེ་ཞིག་སྡོད་ཅིག དེ་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་གསལ་རྒྱལ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་དྲུང་དུ་ཕྱིན་ནས། ཞབས་ལ་ ཕྱག་བྱས་ཏེ་ཕྱོགས་གཅིག་ཏུ་འཁོད་ནས། བཙུན་པ་མུ་སྟེགས་ཅན་རྣམས་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་མཆི་ ན། རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་གྱི་ཆོ་འཕྲུལ་བསྟན་དུ་གསོལ། མུ་སྟེགས་ཅན་རྣམས་འཐག་ཏུ་གསོལ། ཞེས་ སོགས་ཞུས་སོ། །བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། རྒྱལ་པོ་ང་ནི་དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ལ་ཡང་ཁྱིམ་པ་ལ་རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་ སྟོན་ཞིག་ཅེས་མི་ཟེར་གྱི། དགེ་བ་ནི་མ་སྤྱོམས་ཤིག སྡིག་པ་ནི་བཤོགས་ཤིག་ཅེས་སྟོན་ནོ། ། ལན་གཉིས་སུ་ཞུས་ཀྱང་དེ་སྐད་གསུང་པ་ལ། ལན་གསུམ་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པས། ཞག་ བདུན་ནས་དུས་ལ་བབ་པར་མཁྱེན་ནས་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་བཀའ་སྩལ་ཏོ། །རྒྱལ་པོས་མུ་སྟེགས་ ཅན་དག་ལ། སྟོན་པ་ཞག་བདུན་ནས་ཆོ་འཕྲུལ་སྟོན་པར་འགྱུར་གྱི། ཁྱེད་རྣམས་ལ་བཤམ་ དགོས་པ་ཅི་ཡོད་པ་གྱིས་ཤིག དེར་མུ་སྟེགས་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བགྲོས་པ། གཽ་ཏ་མ་ད་ལྟ་ཆོ་འཕྲུལ་ མི་སྟོན་པར་ཞག་བདུན་གྱི་དུས་འདེབས་པ་འདི་ནི། ཡང་ན་ནི་གཽ་ཏ་མ་འབྲོས། ཡང་ན་ནི་ གྲོགས་འཚོལ་བ་ཡིན། གལ་ཏེ་བྲོས་ན་ནི་དེར་ཟད་ལ། རེ་ཞིག་བདག་ཅག་ཀྱང་གྲོགས་ བཙལ་བར་བྱའོ་ཞེས་གླེང་ནས། ཕྱོགས་འཚོལ་བའི་ཕྱིར་ཐམས་ཅད་སོ་སོར་བཀྲམ་སྟེ་སོང་ ངོ་། །དེ་ནས་དེ་དག་ད་ནི་ཞག་བདུན་ལས་གཅིག་འདས་ཏེ་དྲུག་ལུས་སོ། །གཉིས་འདས་ཏེ་ ལྔ་ལུས་སོ་ཞེས་སོགས་སེམས་བརྟན་པར་གནས་པ་མེད་དེ་སོང་བ་ལས། གྲོང་ཁྱེར་རྩྭ་ཅན་ ཀུ་ཤའི་གྲོང་དུ་ཀུན་ཏུ་རྒྱུ་རབ་བཟང་ཅན་དུ་སོང་བ་ན། བདག་ཅག་གིས་དགེ་སྦྱོང་གཽ་ཏ་མ་ཆོ་ འཕྲུལ་འགྲན་པའི་ཕྱིར་བོས་ཀྱིས་ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་གྲོགས་གྱིས་ཤིག །དེས་སྨྲས་པ། དེ་ནི་མ་ལེགས་ ཏེ་དགེ་སྦྱོང་དེ་ནི་རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་ཆེ་བ་མཐུ་ཆེ་བའོ། །ང་

After the six teachers had gone on their way, they spoke as before, "If you say this to me three times, I will drive you all away." Having said that, they left that direction, having heard, "This king is a supporter of Gautama, and King Prasenajit of Shravasti is impartial." So they said, "We must go there sometime." Then at another time, the Teacher traveled from Rajagriha to Shravasti and went to Jetavana. 16-156 After that, the six teachers also went and, having gone to King Prasenajit, spoke as before. The king said, "If that is so, I will ask the Blessed One and then do it; wait a while." Then King Prasenajit went to the Buddha, prostrated at his feet, and sat to one side. He said, "The heretic monks say this: 'Please show a miracle of magic. Please defeat the heretics.'" And so on. The Buddha said, "King, I do not tell the monks or even the laypeople to show miracles. I teach that goodness should not be boasted of, and sin should be confessed." Even after being asked twice, he said the same thing. After being asked three times, he knew that the time was ripe in seven days, and he said the same thing. The king said to the heretics, "The Teacher will perform miracles in seven days. Do whatever you need to prepare." There the heretics discussed, "Gautama is not showing miracles now, but setting a time of seven days. Either Gautama will run away, or he will seek help. If he runs away, that will be the end of it, but for now, we should also seek help." Having discussed this, they all scattered separately to seek help. Then they thought, "Now one of the seven days has passed, and six remain. Two have passed, and five remain," and so on, and they left without their minds being stable. They went to the city of Kusha, the city of Kusha, to the wandering Subhadra, and said to him, "We invite you to help the ascetic Gautama compete in miracles."
