When asked the reason, the king said, and then requested to be ordained there, which the king granted. The bhikkhuni Marima was ordained and received full ordination. After seven days, she passed away and was reborn as a deity of the Four Great Kings' lineage. By listening to the Dharma in the presence of the Blessed One, she saw the truth. Then, that deity went to the pillow of King Utrayana while he was sleeping and woke him up. The king asked, "Who are you?" He replied, "I am Moonlight, and now I have been reborn as a deity. O King, you should also be ordained," and then he disappeared. After that, Utrayana appointed his son Cudaka as the king, and appointed ministers Heruka and Biruka, instructing them, "Govern the kingdom with Dharma." Then, he went with a servant and arrived at Rajagriha (王舍城). King Bimbisara (形色心) greeted him with great honor and expressed his joy that he had come for the sake of ordination. The next morning, Bimbisara and Utrayana together went to the presence of the Blessed One and reported the matter. The Teacher ordained them with the words "Come here." After that, Utrayana, with diligence and effort, at another time, obtained the fruit of non-return. This story is also like subduing the Aryan king. According to the statement that the Teacher did not personally tread that place with his feet, Katyayana's actions are the actions of the Teacher, and because it is of great benefit to beings, it is recorded here. Fifth Chapter: Subduing the Lion The fifth chapter, Subduing the Lion, is: The Blessed One intended to go from Shravasti (舍卫城) to Rajagriha (王舍城). Merchants of like mind requested to offer alms, and the Blessed One agreed. Then, he went with the Sangha. Ananda went with the merchants of like mind and stopped at a crossroads. When the Teacher and his retinue arrived, the road divided into two, one was a straight road but with the danger of lions, and the other was a winding road but safe. So he asked, "Which way should we go?" The Blessed One replied, "The Tathagata is free from the fear of lions." Having said that, he went on the straight road. The Tathagata and

Going alone is free from eighteen fears. Therefore, many people, including renunciants, non-Buddhists, householders, merchants, and beggars, also followed behind. At that time, two children had great faith in the Teacher. One held a drum (Tibetan: རྔ་པ་ཊ་ཧ།), and the other held a small arrow and a small bow, saying, "We will clear the path for the Teacher." After saying this, one beat the drum, and the other drew the bow, walking in front of the Teacher. After walking a little further, the Teacher said, "Two children, go back, I have no fear of lions." The two children also prostrated at the feet of the Teacher and returned. Then, the Bhagavan smiled, emitted rays of light, performed two deeds, and then the urna disappeared. Ananda asked the reason for this, and the Buddha prophesied, "These two children will become Pratyekabuddhas named Drum Sound and Fearless thirteen kalpas from now." That night, everyone settled down in the clearing of the forest. The groups of six, namely Nanda, Upananda, Gavampti, Charka, Udāyi, and Nabusaka, found lodging near a hollow, dry tree. They set fire to the tree, and there was a poisonous snake in the hollow of the tree. The smoke bothered the snake, and it came out from the hole in the upper branch, hanging down. The groups of six shouted, "Something is coming!" The sound was so loud that people thought a lion had come and ran away in fear. The Teacher said to Ananda, "Go back!" Then everyone calmed down. The next morning, the Teacher said to the people, "Although there are many of you, do not go in front. The Tathagata will go in front of everyone." After saying this, the Teacher walked in front of everyone. At that time, a maned lion roared and rushed towards the Teacher. The Teacher emanated five maned lions from the palm of his right hand, and the lion smelled the scent and ran away. The Teacher then emanated flames in the four directions, and the lion had nowhere to escape, so it turned back again, knowing that it could only find peace at the feet of the Teacher, and prostrated at the feet of the Teacher. The Teacher stroked the lion's head with his right hand and said, "You were born as an animal due to your past misdeeds.
