Then, the Blessed One, with a retinue of the tamed, tamed; with a retinue of the pacified, pacified; with a retinue of the liberated, liberated; with a retinue of those with calmed breath, calmed breath; with a retinue of the completely tamed, completely tamed; with a retinue of the Arhats, Arhats; with a retinue of the detached from desire, detached from desire. Like the sun surrounded by a thousand rays, his body like a precious mountain that can walk, a fathom of light, adorned with marks and signs, possessing great compassion. He, with a great Sangha of monks, and the assembly of beings such as Anathapindika the householder, and hundreds of thousands of gods attending, as soon as he placed his foot on the threshold of the city gate, the great earth shook in six ways. All realms of the world were filled with light. The gods rained down flowers from the sky and played music. The high and low lands became level. Elephants, horses, and herds of cattle made sounds. All musical instruments and vessels emitted their own sounds. The blind regained their sight. The deaf heard sounds. The mute were able to speak. Those who lacked faculties had their faculties fully restored. Those intoxicated by alcohol and poison, and those who were mutually hostile, were pacified. Pregnant women gave birth easily. Those who were imprisoned were released. Those who had no wealth found wealth. Such wondrous phenomena, not manifested through miraculous displays, but occurring spontaneously, are called various wondrous natural occurrences. This can be applied whenever the teacher and retinue are invited by a king or householder, etc., to any place they have not previously visited. Then, the Blessed One went to the monastery built by the householder and sat on the seat prepared in the center of the Sangha of monks. Anathapindika the householder, together with his relatives and retinue, with reverence, the householder himself holding a golden pitcher, prepared to pour water, but the water could not flow from the golden pitcher. Then he thought, "Have I done something wrong?" and felt displeased. The Blessed One said, "It is not so. But it is because you offered this very place to the Buddhas of the past."

Sprinkle water on the other side. When sprinkled there, water appeared. The way of offering to the Buddhas of the past is: In the time of Buddha Vipassi, there was a householder named Jayasena; in the time of Buddha Sikhin, there was a householder named Vriddha; in the time of Buddha Visvabhu, there was a householder named Mukha; in the time of Buddha Krakucchanda, there was a householder named Srisena; in the time of Buddha Kanakamuni, there was a householder named Tishya; in the time of Buddha Kashyapa, there was a householder named Sujata, who made offerings. In the future, when Buddha Maitreya appears, there will be a householder named Dhananjaya, who will make offerings. Thus it was prophesied. Here, sprinkling water is a custom of the people of India. For any large donation that is not food or drink, pure water is sprinkled. Therefore, here it is also a symbol of offering a monastery. At that time, it is necessary to state the object being donated. At that time, Prince Jayasena thought: If the Blessed One speaks the name of the object, how wonderful it would be if he mentioned my name first! Knowing his thoughts, the Blessed One said: Monks, this is the garden of Prince Jayasena, the Jeta Grove of Anathapindika. Hearing this, Prince Jayasena was very happy and had a gatehouse built with the nature of the seven precious things. Forty-first, King Prasenajit Placed in Faith. Forty-first, King Prasenajit Placed in Faith is: After not many days, King Prasenajit of Kosala heard that the Blessed One was staying in the Jeta Grove and went to the Teacher with his retinue. After prostrating, he sat on one side and said: It is said that the ascetic Gautama has attained the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Isn't that fabricating a lie against the ascetic Gautama? The Blessed One replied: No, I have attained the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. The king asked: For the time being, even the old and aged ascetics and Brahmins, the perfect ones, etc., do not claim such a thing. What need is there to mention the wise Gautama, who was born not long ago and newly ordained? At that time, the Blessed One used the example of a king
