Having found it, he entrusted it to a friend. There, many people who were to be tamed gathered every day. After seven days, a seat was arranged in a very wide area. The venerable Śāriputra sat on a lion throne, first smiling, and then looked at the people to be tamed. Then, when countless non-Buddhists and spectators gathered, the constant wanderer Red Eyes conjured trees full of Sāhakāra flowers. The venerable Śāriputra sent out red winds and heavy rain, breaking, uprooting, and destroying the trees from their roots. Again, he conjured a lotus pond, conjured many elephants, stirred and trampled it, leaving nothing behind. When he sent out a seven-headed snake, he conjured many Garudas, drew them out, and ate them. Finally, when he cast a corpse, the venerable Śāriputra struck the corpse with a stake. This is the law: when a corpse is cast, if the opponent strikes it with a stake, the caster himself is killed, so the corpse turned back and chased away the heretics such as Red Eyes. They were terrified and frightened, having no other protector, so they went to the venerable Śāriputra for refuge. When the venerable pulled out the stake, the corpse was pacified. Then, the constant wanderer Red Eyes, out of faith, went forth, took ordination, and was taught the Dharma, becoming an Arhat. The venerable Śāriputra taught the Dharma to all the assembled retinue according to their minds, and countless gods and humans saw the truth and, according to their abilities, inclined towards the three types of enlightenment. Still, many non-Buddhists who had not seen the truth wanted to look for opportunities and find occasions. They came to the householder Anāthapiṇḍada and, lamenting, said, "Please let us be unpaid workers and build a temple!" The householder knowingly agreed and let them do so. Once, while they were working, the venerable Śāriputra was walking and resting near a tree where they were working. At that time, when there was no one else around, those non-Buddhists thought to strangle the venerable Śāriputra, hang him on a tree, and kill him. So they took a rope, came to the tree, and surrounded him. The venerable said:

Manifesting a support that can do things, many beings with huge powerful bodies holding iron staffs, drove and beat those non-Buddhists, displaying terrifying miracles, so they sought refuge in the Holy One and thus went to ease. There, they generated faith, and through the Dharma, they saw the truth. All of them renounced and soon reached the state of Arhat. Then, at the time of laying the foundation of the monastery, the Holy Shariputra held one end of the line, and Anathapindika held the other end, and when the first line was drawn, the Holy One smiled. The householder asked the reason for this. The Holy One informed him that in the Tushita heaven, a golden palace of forty yojanas was also accomplished. Then, when the second line was drawn, that golden palace became composed of four kinds of jewels. Then, gradually, in the center there was a large monastery, surrounded by sixteen monasteries, and sixty small rooms surrounding it. The outer fence and all the utensils were richly decorated. Young Jeta also made the gatehouse perfectly complete. The Fortieth: Inviting to Shravasti. The Fortieth: Inviting to Shravasti: Then, wanting to invite the Blessed One and his retinue, the householder asked the Holy Shariputra, "How much distance does the Tathagata travel each day?" He replied, "Like a Chakravartin king, it is a distance of ten yojanas." Then, from Shravasti to Rajagriha, the lodging places were calculated, and a house for giving was built at each lodging place. In addition, offerings were prepared for each time and hour, and places for horses to dismount were also built. People were also arranged for parasols and food. The roads were repaired and decorated with all kinds of ornaments. A person was sent as a messenger to invite the Blessed One. That person also arrived in Rajagriha, prostrated at the feet of the Teacher, and requested the Blessed One to go to Shravasti. Then, the Blessed One, together with the Sangha of monks, traveled through the regions between Rajagriha and Shravasti, gradually accepting the offerings respectfully prepared by the householder.
