First, non-Buddhists cannot lift the frame for carrying the corpse. Monks can lift it, that's the second. Transform a pond, where non-Buddhists sink, and monks walk without sinking, that's the third. In that pond, non-Buddhists are harmed by fish and turtles. Monks are not harmed, that's the fourth. The fire for cremating the corpse, non-Buddhists cannot ignite. Monks can ignite it, that's the fifth. Thus, The wandering ascetic Good Virtue, with miraculous powers, demonstrated nirvana. The non-Buddhists, upon hearing this, raised banners and paraded through the streets, saying: "Other than the teachings of Gautama (Sanskrit: Gautama, 乔达摩, best cow), there is no attainment of nirvana. Now our Brahma, whose conduct is the same, the wandering ascetic Good Virtue has attained nirvana!" So they said. There, countless crowds of giants and others gathered. In the center of the pond, on a stone platform, preparations were made for cremation. The monks and non-Buddhists lost the power of truth. Whoever of Good Virtue is the Buddha, or whose Brahma of the non-Buddhists has the same conduct, can lift the corpse, not sink in the pond's water, not be harmed by the pond's fish and so on, and be able to ignite the corpse, and whoever is not, cannot. Having done that, the non-Buddhists could not do those things, but the monks could do those things. There, the great crowd destroyed the non-Buddhists, and the giants became even more devoted to the Thus-Gone One. 16-284 ༄། །The One Hundred and Eighteenth: The Teaching on Nirvana. The One Hundred and Eighteenth: The Teaching on Nirvana: There, starting from telling the story of Good Virtue's past lives, it is advised to rely on holy beings. Except for Shakya and the matted-hair ascetic, non-Buddhists should not be excessively praised, for the benefit of oneself and others, one should study the twelve divisions of scripture, the Pratimoksha Sutra is praised as the teacher, the Sangha allows for distinctions to be made regarding the minor foundations of discipline, new monks should not call elders by their names, and elders should also collect robes and bowls, the teacher

Birth, enlightenment, turning the wheel of Dharma, and nirvana, Remembering these four places, and telling others about them, thereby generating faith in the Buddha, One will be reborn in the heavens, thus it was declared. Again, he asked: Those who still have doubts, please speak. Ananda replied: No one has doubts. Then, the Blessed One removed the upper garment from his body and said to the monks: Look, it is extremely rare to see a Tathagata. All conditioned phenomena are of the nature of impermanence, this is the last teaching of the Tathagata. Having said this, he entered into the samadhi of the first dhyana. Likewise, he entered the second, third, and fourth dhyanas, the realm of infinite space, the realm of infinite consciousness, the realm of nothingness, the peak of existence, and the cessation samadhi. Then, the venerable Ananda asked the non-returner: Has the Tathagata entered nirvana? He replied: No, he has entered the cessation samadhi. I have personally heard the Blessed One declare that the Blessed One emerges from the fourth dhyana. After that, he arose from the cessation samadhi and entered the peak of existence, the realm of nothingness, the realm of infinite consciousness, the realm of infinite space, the fourth dhyana, the third dhyana, the second dhyana, the first dhyana, and again entered the second dhyana, the third dhyana, and the fourth dhyana, thus entering samadhi. Relying on the extreme state of the fourth dhyana, he manifested complete nirvana. In an instant, the earth shook, meteors fell like rain, the directions were darkened, and the drums of the gods sounded in unison. At that time, Mahakashyapa was in Rajagriha, and upon observing the earthquake, he knew that the Tathagata had entered nirvana. He thought: If King Ajatashatru suddenly hears of this, he will surely vomit blood and die, so a method must be devised. He then went to the Brahmin Summer-Maker and said to him: Summer-Maker, you should know that the Teacher has entered nirvana. If the king suddenly hears of this, it will be inauspicious. You should paint the events from his entry into the womb to his final resting place in the Jeta Grove. When the king comes out of the palace gate, show him the painting of the Jeta Grove, and explain each event one by one.
