Solpa, the Blessed One abandoned the six great cities, why would you pass into nirvana in such a bad city like Tosu? The Blessed One replied: Do not call this place a bad city, and told the stories of King Kushacan and King Lemon, etc. Between the twin sala tree grove and the stupa decorated with giant headdresses, in this place of twelve yojanas around, I have previously obtained and abandoned six bodies of the Chakravartin, the seventh is this present one, and the eighth has no place to abandon. At that time, the disciple Dejen (Dpe-can) was sitting in front of the Blessed One. The Blessed One said: Hey, Bhikshu, do not sit in front of me, go away! So he left. This is because the glory of that Bhikshu was too strong, and the gods could not come there. The appearance of the Buddha is rare, 16-280 If you pass into nirvana tonight, because he is in front of us, we cannot go to make offerings, this is to prevent the gods from complaining like this. There, in the area of twelve yojanas around, there was no place that was not covered by the gods, even the area where a stick could be inserted was empty. After that, Ananda asked how to make offerings to the relics of the teacher. The Blessed One explained in detail how to treat the relics of the Chakravartin. The Blessed One also said to Ananda: The giants of the grassland will regret, saying that the teacher passed into nirvana near us, but no one invited us, so we could not make offerings. You go and invite them, saying that the Tathagata will pass into nirvana at midnight tonight, you should complete what you should do. Ananda also did so. Then, the giants of the grassland came to the Tathagata with their respective sons, wives, and other relatives, in order to see the face of the Buddha and make offerings. The Blessed One satisfied them with the Dharma that suited their respective minds. For those giants who wanted to take refuge and observe the five precepts, the Blessed One instructed Ananda to let them receive the lay vows. If the precepts are given one by one, there is not enough time.

Having learned this, he reported to the Buddha, who granted permission, and five hundred giants simultaneously received the vows of a lay devotee. Chapter 116: Taming Delightful Victory Chapter 116: Taming Delightful Victory: Then, the Blessed One thought, "Now, for the sake of taming those to be tamed, two remain: Delightful Victory and Delightful Excellence. The wandering Delightful Excellence is easier to tame because of his mind training, but the king of the Gandharvas, Delightful Victory, is difficult to tame. The disciples of the Hearers can be tamed by the Buddha, but the disciples of the Buddha cannot be tamed by the Hearers. After my passing, no one else will be able to tame Delightful Victory," he thought. Now, the king of the Gandharvas, Delightful Victory, was a friend of Indra. From the time the Bodhisattva entered his mother's womb until his final sleep, Indra repeatedly urged him to go to the Teacher to make offerings, but he arrogantly said, "कौशिका (梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) कौशिका (Kauśika, कौशिका, कौशिका), कौशिका (梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) Go away, I want to sing for a while," and refused to go. At that time, the Blessed One left an emanation of his body in his sleeping chamber and, carrying a एकवीणा (梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) एकवीणा (ekavīṇā, एकवीणा, 一弦琴) Vīṇā of lapis lazuli with a thousand strings, in the form of Delightful Victory, he went near the abode of the Thirty-Three, to the gate of the palace of the Gandharva Delightful Victory. There, the gatekeeper informed Delightful Victory, who, arrogant with pride, thought, "Is there another Gandharva greater than me?" and immediately came out. He competed with him, playing the Vīṇā and singing, and there was no difference in the sound. Then, one string was broken, then two strings were broken, and finally, up to nine hundred and ninety-nine strings were broken, and they still competed with one string. Then, Delightful Victory's one string broke, and there was no sound, but the Blessed One's string still made sound as before. He thought, "It seems there is a Gandharva who is far superior to me," and his arrogance was shattered. Then, the Blessed One revealed his true form and taught the Dharma, and he attained the Stream-Enterer, took refuge, and took the basis of training. Chapter 117: Taming Delightful Excellence Chapter 117: Taming Delightful Excellence: Then, the Blessed One disappeared from there and went to the grassland. At that time, there was a wandering ascetic named Delightful Excellence, who was one hundred and twenty years old,
