Together they went to the town of Mitsurudi. Taking off the five royal garments, namely the headdress, umbrella, sword, fly-whisk, and shoes, he entrusted them to the son of Sbyod-pa, telling them to watch over the servants at the temple gate. Having heard that there was a secret affair of the king there, the attendants stayed there. Having gone inside, they prostrated at the feet of the Blessed One and made many requests with great devotion. The Blessed One also extensively bestowed teachings on the Dharma, which were like nectar. Having stayed there for a long time, the son of Sbyod-pa thought: "Now, if I do not appoint Phags-skyes-po to the kingship, he might kill my father, Gsal-rgyal, and it might also harm me." So, taking the five royal garments, he returned to Shravasti and appointed Phags-skyes-po to the kingship. King Gsal-rgyal, having prostrated at the feet of the Teacher, came out of the temple and found no servants or vehicles. When he asked about it, they said, "They have been gone for a long time." The king himself walked a little way on foot and met two queens, to whom he related what had happened. The queen said, "I have always prayed that Phags-skyes-po would attain the kingship and live happily. It is good that he has now obtained the kingship. 'Phreng-ldan-ma, you have already experienced the happiness of my kingship, now go and experience the kingship of your son." Having said this, she went to the royal palace together with Dbyar-tshul-ma. After that, Phags-skyes-po, having prepared his army, came to destroy the Shakyas. The Teacher thought, "There are still many of the Shakya clan who have not seen the truth." So he sat by the roadside under a dried-up Shakota tree, which had thin leaves and a small shadow. Phags-skyes-po saw him and prostrated at his feet, asking, "Why have you abandoned other good trees and are sitting here?" The Teacher replied, "This was planted by my relatives, so the shade of relatives is very cool." Phags-skyes-po thought, "The Blessed One is very compassionate towards his relatives, the Shakyas." So he turned back his army once.

It went away. There, the Blessed One went to Kapilavastu and Lhas bstan. For the Shakyas, he again taught the Dharma that suited their faculties. All the Shakyas who had not seen the truth before saw the truth. Except for a few infants who had just been born and whose bodies had not yet fully developed, and a few who held wrong views, all the Shakya men, women, old and young, and the servants who lived on leftovers, all saw the truth. In Kapilavastu and other places, in the lands of the Shakyas, it was as if only noble ones were there, and even if one searched diligently, one could not find ordinary people. Thus, the Blessed One's relatives and all who relied on him obtained ultimate, unsurpassed bliss. At that time, the final actions of King Prasenajit and the wicked Devadatta, and the slaughter of 77,000 Shakyas, and so on, the joys and sorrows experienced by the Shakyas were terrifying. The Hundred and Eighth: The Prophecy of the Brahmin Gambu to Buddhahood. The Hundred and Eighth: The Prophecy of the Brahmin Gambu to Buddhahood: Then, the Blessed One was dwelling in the Light Garden in Rajagriha. At that time, on a mountain in the south, there was a Brahmin named Gambu who was very wealthy and engaged in giving great offerings. All the heretics and Brahmins came to his offering place and took the offerings. He thought, "Oh, how wonderful it would be if the ascetic Gautama would come to take my offering!" The Blessed One knew this and, together with a thousand monks, went to that place. He blessed it so that the Brahmins and beggars would only see the Blessed One and not see his retinue. Then, the Brahmin Gambu saw the Teacher coming and said, "Ascetic, come and enjoy my offering!" The Blessed One said, "First, fill this alms bowl of mine, and then I will enjoy it." Then, he poured in a lot of food, but the alms bowl did not fill up, and the Brahmin became arrogant and thought, "Oh, I am doing offerings, but I cannot fill this alms bowl."
