I May those who wield weapons protect. The Blessed One said to the Ganges deity: Do not protect. He replied: I have not protected, but these are protected by your actions. The Teacher's miraculous power caused the mouths of those hungry ghosts to open, and Maudgalyayana poured water, attaining a state of satiation, and their bellies swelled. They died with faith in the Teacher, and were born as gods of the Four Great Kings, and by listening to the Dharma from the Blessed One, they saw the truth. The intermediate verse is: In brief, the frog rejoices with, the boat and the swan, fish bones, frog, five hundred hungry ghosts were satisfied. The hundred and fifth, the poor Brahmin seeing the truth, etc. The hundred and fifth, the poor Brahmin seeing the truth, etc.: Thereafter, the Blessed One passed through the land called Youthful Arising, and with Arm Ornamented, and with Jewel Possessed, and the land of Sala Strength, and Sala's Strength, and Golden Bushel, and with Places, and arrived at the border of Shravasti, a poor Brahmin, having not eaten in the morning, was doing farm work in a barley field. When his daughter came to deliver porridge, the Blessed One happened to go in that direction, and the Brahmin developed faith and left the unplowed field and offered porridge to the Buddha. The Teacher showed an old well and said to pour the porridge into it. As he poured it in, the well was filled to the brim with porridge, and steam billowed out. Then the Brahmin first offered it to the Blessed One, and then distributed the porridge to all the Sangha, but it was not exhausted. The well was even more full, and the Brahmin developed great faith, and he taught the Dharma to him, and he also saw the truth. Thereafter, all the fields of that Brahmin became sprouts of gold, ears of gold, and barley of gold. Then he went to King Light and said: The barley in my field has all grown into gold, please grant an overseer and take one-sixth. Then, when the overseer was sent and divided it separately, the king's share became barley, and the Brahmin's share remained gold. They exchanged and divided again, and even after doing so seven times, it remained the same, and the overseer said: Now, whatever you estimate according to your mind.
