Five hundred temples were built. Thus, after saving Vaishali from harm, in between that time, he went to the lands near the north to benefit beings. In between those times, there are many other small histories, but only the general ones are written here. Interim summary: The Brahmin city and the four seats were taught. In the Black City, the elephant strength was subdued. The Hundredth: Subduing the Lineage of the Northern Direction. The Hundredth: Subduing the Lineage of the Northern Direction: Then, the Blessed One stayed in the temple of the Black City, and after begging for alms in the morning, he washed his feet and sat in the temple. There, the Blessed One thought: The remainder of my life is short, but there are still very many to be tamed. If I were to go with Ananda, I would not be able to accomplish the benefit of the beings of the north even in a hundred years. Now, I will go with the Vajrapani protector, the noble Lord of Secrets. Thinking this, he said to Vajrapani: Now I will go to tame those without remainder. Then, the Blessed One and the Vajrapani protector flew into the sky together, and seeing a green and lush forest, he said: This is the Uśīra Mountain. Now, a hundred years after my passing into nirvana, it will become a place of peace and harmony called the Rāmasāla Grove. Thus he prophesied. He went to the land of Spuṅs pa can and taught the Dharma to all the people there. The people of that land requested: The protector Buddha-power has harmed us for a long time, please subdue him. Buddha-power was also in that assembly, so he said: Buddha-power, do you hear? Turn away from that sinful Dharma. He also took refuge and took vows, and built temples and residences. That protector wanted to follow the Buddha, but he was prevented and appointed to protect that place. Then, in the land of Retuka, he taught the Dharma to the people, and the subduing of the protector Dharma-power was the same as that. In Retuka, he built residences and temples. Then, in the land of Sindhu, he taught the Dharma to the listeners.

Having shown miracles and preached the Dharma, he established them in the truth. Subduing the people of Sindhu and the Yaksha hosts, the construction of the temple was the same as before. Then, at the hermitage of the ascetic {shipbuilder}, he established two ascetics named Shaven-headed and Ball-pouring in the truth, and built their dwellings as well. Then, when he approached the abode of Sogma Med (Immaculate), the Naga Sogma Med (Immaculate) became angry, agitated, and roaring, and rising into the sky, rained down hail and dust, which turned into a rain of agarwood and tamala powder for the Blessed One. The great rain of weapons that was rained down turned into a rain of lotuses and উৎপala flowers. When he emitted smoke in his anger, the Teacher emitted an even greater miraculous smoke. When he lit a fire, the Teacher lit an even greater fire. The Yaksha leader Vajrapani hurled a vajra at the mountain peak near the Naga's abode, and the mountain collapsed, suppressing all the abodes of Sogma Med (Immaculate). When he began to flee, flames blazed in all directions, and knowing that only at the feet of the Teacher was there peace, he clung to his feet. The Teacher stroked him with his hand and said: If you were to offer alms to the four Shravakas like a good vase, you would be reborn among the gods of the Thirty-three, but because you made a wrong aspiration, you became an animal, and now that you have committed acts of violence, you will fall into a terrible hell. There, Sogma Med (Immaculate) and his wife, daughter, and brides took refuge and were established in the five precepts. The son, Rivo, also wanted to do the same. Sogma Med (Immaculate) pleaded with the Blessed One, saying: We Nagas have many unfriendly people, please do not impose precepts on them. So the son, Rivo, was only placed in refuge. There, the Naga King Sogma Med (Immaculate) and his retinue of sixty thousand Nagas were established in the Dharma. Vajrapani was very pleased with this and brandished the vajra and danced. Then, the Blessed One and the Lord of Secrets ascended into the sky and saw a blue forest with lakes, and said: This is the land of Kashmir, and a hundred years after my Nirvana, a Bhikshu named Nyima Gungpa will appear, and he will establish the teachings, and among the abodes that are in accordance with Vipashyana, he will be the most excellent.
