Then, the Blessed One went to the city of Nalada in Magadha. There, there was a wandering ascetic named Reed Merchant, who was one hundred and twenty years old and revered as an Arhat. A friend named Deva said to him, "Wouldn't it be good if this person could be ordained in the presence of the Buddha? Let's think of a way." He thought, "I can have him ask these four questions in his mind, and then follow the one who knows the answers." As it was said, he went to the six teachers, including Purana Kassapa, and asked the questions in his mind. They didn't even understand the questions, so how could they answer? At that time, he thought, "If even the six teachers don't know, how would the new Gautama know?" He also thought, "Perhaps he should not be underestimated." So he went before the Buddha and asked the four questions in his mind. The Buddha answered him in verses. He was deeply convinced and ordained, and attained the state of Arhat. After that, he spent that night in the village called Light Staff, and there he taught the Dharma of the Four Noble Truths. The next morning, he went to Red Child City and stayed at the stupa near Red Child City. There, he taught the Dharma to the assembly of people, starting with mindfulness. The next morning, a Brahmin named Summer Work, who was an advisor to King Ajatashatru and was in charge of directing the construction of the walls of Red Child City, invited the Blessed One and his retinue to receive alms and had them sit on the prepared seats. He saw powerful gods rolling on the ground in that direction and thought, "There, powerful people will be drawn to it, and so will the middle and lower ones. This is the best place for a noble site, because three calamities will occur here: fire, water, and internal strife." Then, he had the Blessed One fully satisfied with alms and dedicated the merit as requested by the king. Summer Work thought, "Whichever gate the Blessed One leaves through, I will name it the Gautama Gate; whichever bank of the Ganges he leaves from, I will name it the Gautama Landing." The Blessed One knew his thoughts and knew that it was not good, so he ascended into the sky from the center of Red Child City and went to the bank of the Ganges. There, Aja

The people sent by the earth deity held five hundred umbrellas with a hundred ribs on their heads and offered them. The Vaishali people also held five hundred umbrellas from the north. If people also make offerings like this, the nagas thought, "Why are we not happy to make offerings?" So the nagas also held five hundred jewel umbrellas. The four great kings also held five hundred excellent umbrellas. Indra also held five hundred excellent umbrellas, and blessed each of them to appear as if they were each holding their own umbrella on top of the teacher's head. When asked the reason for this, he told the story of King Good Vision, saying: "In the past, the wheel-turning king had taken birth two thousand five hundred times, and the remaining power of his activities is now that he is holding two thousand five hundred umbrellas on his head at the same time. If he had not attained enlightenment now, he would still become two thousand five hundred wheel-turning kings. His merit has matured, and I have vowed that my shravaka disciples will enjoy the maturation. Even in a place where one can of pearls cannot buy one can of grain, my shravaka disciples will not be busy with begging for alms." After that, King Ajatashatru built a pontoon bridge on the Ganges, and the Vaishali people also built one in the same way. The nagas living in the Ganges also built a bridge. The Blessed One and Ananda came from the bridge, and the monks came from the two pontoon bridges, and arrived at a high place on the other side of the river and looked. Monks, do you want to see the stupa offered by the gods? We want to see it. The Buddha touched the ground with his right hand, and the nagas, the owners of the stupa that the gods had built in the past, which was a thousand yojanas high and sixty yojanas wide, erected it on the ground. After that, the Buddha told the monks two signs that the stupa would quickly disappear. There, all the other monks were watching and thinking, but the monk Good Virtue was not watching, but turned his back and was sewing the sanghati in his hand towel. When asked the reason for this, he told the story of King Great Sound in the past, and later Maitreya Buddha.
