On the occasion of explaining the method of accomplishment of Zigs. ༈ The Sadhana of Avalokiteśvara Six Syllables. ༄༅། །The Sadhana of Avalokiteśvara Six Syllables. Oṃ svāsti! For all beings in the world without exception, after looking with eyes of compassion, pacifying the suffering, the protector of the world, after bowing to him, I will explain the method of accomplishment. First, refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, etc., recite three times. Visualize oneself as Avalokiteśvara, from the hrīḥ (ཧྲཱིཿ, Devanagari: ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: Hrih) in the heart, rays of light emanate. The main deity and retinue of the Great Compassionate One in the sky in front, with Vajra Samāja (བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ), Oṃ Vajrapuṣpe Āḥ Hūṃ (ༀ་བཛྲ་པུཥྤེ་ཨཱཿཧཱུཾ་), etc., up to Naivedya (Devanagari: नैवेद्य, Romanized Sanskrit: naivedya, Literal meaning: Offering), make offerings. Request all the Tathāgatas to grant empowerment. Recite "Oṃ Abhiṣiñcatu Māṃ Sarva Tathāgata (ༀ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་ཏུ་མཾ་སརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ།)", and from the right hand of the deities, a stream of nectar arises. Starting from the crown of the head, the entire body is washed, thereby purifying the two obscurations. Oṃ Sarva Tathāgata Abhiṣekaṭa Samaya Śrīye Hūṃ (ༀ་སརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥེ་ཀ་ཏ་ས་མ་ཡ་ཤྲཱི་ཡེ་ཧཱུཾ།). Wash the face and mouth three times with water from a vase or conch shell. The main deity dissolves into light and merges into one's own crown of the head, obtaining the vase empowerment. The six syllables also dissolve, obtaining the secret empowerment. The one holding the jewel also dissolves, obtaining wisdom, including the fourth wisdom, thereby transforming into the deity's body, the state of the Great Seal of union of appearance and emptiness. In the palms of the right and left hands, there is a moon made of the letter A (ཨ་), and on the moon is the letter Hrīḥ (ཧྲཱིཿ, Devanagari: ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: Hrih). Pour nectar water onto it, the letter Hrīḥ (ཧྲཱིཿ, Devanagari: ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: Hrih) is washed away, transforming into a stream of milk. The pretas drink it and are satisfied, and possessing the bliss of the Dharmakāya, they return to their respective places. Recite Hrīḥ (ཧྲཱིཿ, Devanagari: ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: Hrih) and wash hands. Then, perform refuge, bodhicitta, and the four immeasurables as in the common practice. Oṃ Svabhāva Viśuddha Sarva Dharmā Svabhāva Viśuddho 'Haṃ (ༀ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་བི་ཤུདྡྷ་སརྦ་དྷརྨ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་བི་ཤུདྡྷོ྅ཧཾ།). From emptiness, in the sky just in front of the heart, the white letter Hrīḥ (ཧྲཱིཿ, Devanagari: ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: Hrih) melts, and from its center appears a large white bindu. To the right and left, there is a small white bindu each. All of these transform into the three deities of the retinue: in the center is the noble Avalokiteśvara, the color of his body is like the sun shining on a snow-covered mountain, possessing the splendor of a million autumn moons. One face and four arms, the first two hands joined in a hollow mudra at the heart, the lower right hand holds a string of pearls, and the lower left hand holds a white lotus.
