Especially, meditate intensely on yourself abiding on a lotus of burning iron and a solar disc, with flames blazing fiercely. For the inner visualization, focus your mind on the red [རཾ་] (Tibetan, ram, ram, seed syllable) radiating light at the navel. Subdue the breath, maintaining a continuous flow of breath. Do this during the day in the morning, and then before going to sleep. The best is the lotus posture, the intermediate is squatting, and the lowest is to raise the pillow high. Lie on your right side, bring your knees to your chest, and curl your body into three folds. Fall asleep with your mind focused on the [རཾ་] (Tibetan, ram, ram, seed syllable) at the navel. The necessity of this is: by practicing tummo, you can seize the clear light of sleep, and the heat from practicing during the day will not fade at night. If you have slightly mastered the emptiness and bliss of fire, or eating food, then practicing this will undoubtedly reveal meaning. End of the ninth visualization section. Tummo Riding on the Wind The fourth, riding on the wind, is: if you meditate for a long time with the root visualization and mastery of breath, signs and qualities will arise, such as "the arising of a gait equal to that of a fine horse." Now, for beginners who can get started immediately and practice breath for a month or two, the comings and goings on the road will not disturb the channels and winds, nor will the elements become turbid, and the very act of coming and going will have the benefit of exercising the body. That is, before starting on the road, hold your breath about twenty-one times. At that time, you can practice the actual visualization, or simply practice non-conceptuality. The actual practice is that when walking on the road, make the tokgyé mudra with your hands, subdue the breath, and hold your breath. The visualization is that two white and green wind goddesses, with wings, lift you from your armpits and take you to any place you desire. Here, holding the breath refers to the four breaths mentioned above. Twenty-one times amounts to eighty-four breaths. This seems to be intended for those who have not yet completed the preliminary vase breathing. For those who can hold their breath for a long time, that many are not needed. Although it is not clearly stated in the instruction manuals, at that time, merely the tokgyé mudra with a relaxed middle is not sufficient. You must make the tokgyé mudra with your fists placed in your armpits, and visualize the wind goddesses lifting you up. Thus, the root of the Union of All Buddhas.

The Lama's Teachings. Tenth, Stages of Visualization. 12-539 Subsequent Instructions on Tummo Third, the subsequent instructions include requesting empowerment of existence and self-liberation of obstacles. First, from the time you receive this instruction, at the end of the session of practicing Tummo, you must practice this once. That is, on your own crown, on a lion throne, a white lotus, and a sun and moon cushion, visualize the actual body of the root guru, or you can visualize Vajradhara, but visualizing the root guru is considered more profound. In any case, the guru's body color is white and radiates light. Know that the guru is the embodiment of all refuge places. Offer offering water, flowers, and other offerings, as well as a magnificent palace, a throne, a treasure of precious clothes, a wish-fulfilling tree, a wish-fulfilling cow, the seven royal emblems, the eight auspicious goddesses, and so on. In short, offering all the good and excellent offerings of all times and directions is the outer offering. Then, bless the samaya substances such as the five meats and five amritas into wisdom nectar and offer them, which is the inner offering. Offering the consort of the family who generates bliss is the secret offering. Knowing all of this as illusion and dream is the offering of suchness. Having thus fully offered the four offerings, say this: To the precious guru, the embodiment of all Buddhas of the three times, I offer outer flowers and incense, inner five meats and five amritas, secret bliss-emptiness wisdom, and the most secret offering of suchness. Please accept them and grant me the complete four empowerments. After praying intensely like this, a stream of wisdom nectar, white and clear, with a comfortable experience, descends intensely from the guru's body. It enters from the crown and fills up to the eyebrows, obtaining the vase empowerment, bestowing the accomplishment of the body. Again, the stream of nectar fills up to the throat, obtaining the secret empowerment, bestowing the accomplishment of speech. Again, it fills up to the heart, obtaining the wisdom-awareness empowerment, bestowing the accomplishment of mind. Again, the stream of nectar flows from the navel and so on, filling the entire inside of the body up to the soles of the feet, obtaining the fourth empowerment, bestowing all the accomplishments of body, speech, and mind. The guru himself also dissolves into light and gradually merges into oneself.
