Meditate with the desire of having both, and pray with your mind. Light radiates from Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hūṃ), pervading all appearances. Think it is a dream. All appearances dissolve into light and merge into oneself. It is the vase empowerment. When one's own mind is clearly manifest, generate the memory of a dream. It dissolves into light 12-559 and merges into the guru in the heart. It is the secret empowerment. For that too, generate the memory of a dream. The guru dissolves into light and merges into Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hūṃ). It is the wisdom empowerment. Then, think that the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hūṃ) also vanishes like a rainbow, and maintain that state. It is the fourth empowerment. From that, intensely train the desire for dreams. Again, repeat this practice, meditating without limit to the number of sessions or duration. You must practice in this way. In the instruction manual of both stillness and contemplation, it says: If the outer environment and inner beings are not clearly gathered into oneself, and if the gathering of the object of focus into clear light during the day is also not clear, this is a slight concealment of the practice. However, the wise and accomplished Youthful Accomplisher also believes that it should be gradually developed like the object of focus during the time of holding the clear light. For these two, the reason for giving the name "holding without conceptualization" is that when actually applying it to practice, from the gathering of the object of focus until falling asleep, without being interrupted by other conceptual thoughts, it is necessary to abide in a state of non-thought, that is its meaning. It is the twenty-one object of focus instructions. Second, the path of taking with conceptualization is that the preliminaries are the same as before. Visualize the four channels of your throat, becoming a red lotus with four petals, in the center of which is a red Oṃ (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Oṃ), its red light pervading all directions of the throat. Hold the vase breath or gentle breath, and in the first half of the day, strongly wish: I must definitely dream tonight, and I must recognize it as a dream in the dream. In the second half of the day, strongly desire: I think I have fallen asleep, this appearance seems to be a dream. In the evening session, make the wish: Now the dream will come quickly, so I must recognize it at this moment. That is to say, before completely entering deep sleep, the coarse appearance of the current waking state is called the conceptual thought between sleep and appearance. After the experience of sounds buzzing in the ears, or the body 12-560 feeling numb, or feeling heavy and oppressed, or feeling tingling between the eyebrows, or feeling suffocated in the breath, etc.,

Beings such as dogs, houses, and appearances such as roads appear vaguely. It is clearer than the waning moon, and the faint appearance that is slightly less clear than an actual dream is called the conceptualization between sleep and appearance. At this time, one should strongly train the intention to recognize that this is a dream. In these three states, the object is the same except for changing the intention. The way of holding with the three postures in the three key times is also the same as before. But one does not do the practice of gathering the object of focus into emptiness and abiding there. Instead, focus the mind on the syllable OM (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: OM), and go to sleep with an intention that is not too strong, thinking that now the conceptualization between sleep and appearance is arising, and one must recognize it. There, if the conceptualization between sleep and appearance arises, slightly relax the intention of thinking that this is a dream. Slightly contract the chin. However, if there are too many restrictions and breakages, one will wake up, so one should go to sleep in a state of relaxed intention. Recognize the conceptualization between sleep and appearance, and because it is held with a conceptual intention, it is said not to be led by conceptualization. The venerable one said, this is a teaching that it is impossible not to grasp dreams. Here, in the instruction manuals of Jia, Sang, and Serlingpa, they only briefly mentioned the explanation of the OM (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: OM) syllable in the throat and then stopped. The venerable one said that the object of focus during the day is the same as the previous object of focus, and one should practice it, and guide it in a non-conceptual way. Jiachen said that, or when extracting the essence of the two objects of focus, one should not practice those two, but rather train the general intention of dreams. These are all due to relying on oral instructions. The twenty-second object of focus sequence. Training in Dreams. Second, training in dreams means that after obtaining the reliance of grasping dreams, it is necessary to train in dreams. That is to say, this is done under the condition of grasping dreams and abandoning the object of focus, and focusing entirely on training. If one practices continuously without abandoning the object of focus, then at the stage where one can grasp dreams every night, one should also practice the object of focus of training, and it is sufficient to combine grasping and training into one. There are four of these: training the mind with the body, with the mind
