Use the symbol of a cloudless sky as a substitute (for death). This comes from the common oral instructions. The fifteenth practice instruction. Second is the oral instruction on clear light, which comes from the supreme oral instructions, and it has four parts: combining sleep with clear light, combining death with clear light, combining death with the bardo, and the instruction on the transference of consciousness. The first is, if you are somewhat familiar with the clear light of daytime and experience arises to some extent, then when going to sleep, focus your mind on the བཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: वं, Romanized Sanskrit: vaṃ, Literal meaning: vam) at the navel, and fall asleep maintaining the same experience as before. Before long, you will realize clear light in sleep. The sixteenth practice instruction. In all instances of dream and clear light meditation, it is extremely important to meditate on the three channels of the severed-head mother, and some consider it acceptable even without other instructions. The second is, in the current daily practice, even at the time of death and the actual moment of dying consciousness, one should cultivate this state of being free from all recognition of the mind's own nature of bliss and clarity. Just as you are now cultivating the experience of the five signs, so too for all the signs of death, you should remain calm without modification on top of whatever sign arises. Just as you are now meditating during breaks from meditative equipoise, you should repeatedly generate the wish to do the same at the time of death. Later, at the time of death, the method of application is as follows: First, remembering death, since the ultimate end of all sentient beings is death, there is no need to grieve over death. At this time, one should think of practicing the Dharma. Second, not regretting death, confessing misdeeds, purifying hatred, and cutting off attachments. Third, taking death as accomplishment, giving away all possessions, strongly praying to the guru and yidam, thinking that it is enough for me to experience death as the dharmakaya, and feeling joyful like a son returning to his father's home. Fourth, recognizing death, when the stages of dissolution of the four elements, the three appearances, and the clear light arise, recognize them and remain calm. Fifth, the key to carrying death into the dharmakaya is to completely determine that one's own body and all appearances are unreal like a dream, and the ability

在身体的中央,于如铜管般的中脉中,观想有二十八层红色莲花,自己的心是BAM(藏文:བཾ།,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:വം)字或白明点的形状,在脐下四指处,位于所有莲花的下方。稍微收摄气,随着呼气,用五个HAL(藏文:ཧལ་,梵文天城体:हल्,梵文罗马拟音:hal,汉语字面意思:हल्)音,将气和心都收摄到BAM(藏文:བཾ།,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:വം)字中,每个音都将BAM(藏文:བཾ།,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:വം)字向上提升到每一朵莲花上。同样地,也加上五个HIK(藏文:ཧིཀ,梵文天城体:हिक्,梵文罗马拟音:hik,汉语字面意思:हिक्)音。或者,也有人说用HAL(藏文:ཧལ་,梵文天城体:हल्,梵文罗马拟音:hal,汉语字面意思:हल्)音钩住,然后用HIK(藏文:ཧིཀ,梵文天城体:हिक्,梵文罗马拟音:hik,汉语字面意思:हिक्)音抓住。同样地,也用五个HI(藏文:ཧི,梵文天城体:हि,梵文罗马拟音:hi,汉语字面意思:हि)音、五个HUM(藏文:ཧཱུཾ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:huṃ,汉语字面意思:हुं)音、五个HAK(藏文:ཧཀ,梵文天城体:हक्,梵文罗马拟音:hak,汉语字面意思:हक्)音和五个HUM(藏文:ཧཱུཾ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:huṃ,汉语字面意思:हुं)字音,如前一样提升,观想最后一个音使BAM(藏文:བཾ།,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:വം)字在头顶上突出。之后,缓慢地用力吸气,观想BAM(藏文:བཾ།,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:വം)字逐渐下降,回到脐下原来的位置。 12-187 如果跺脚或做一两次小的震动会更好。会出现迅速成就迁识的征兆。临终时应用的方法是:其他与之前相同,但不需要下降。BAM(藏文:བཾ།,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:വം)字从头顶射出,如果迁识到兜率天或极乐世界等处,就是化身的迁识。

Then hold the prana in conjunction. If you cannot, leave it in its natural state. Let the mind rest in the very nature of luminosity, free from elaboration. 12-186 This is the seventeenth session. Third, as before, in the state of meditating on luminosity, visualize yourself as the body of Vajravarahi, clear like a rainbow, and imagine all appearances as a mandala. Generate the aspiration to meditate on this alone even in the bardo state. In all activities between sessions, think that all of this is bardo. Now, do not be confused, and repeatedly remember luminosity, the deity's form, and illusion-like appearances. This is the eighteenth session. Fourth, first perform whatever pranayama is appropriate. Then, from the BAM (Tibetan: བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: वं) syllable at the navel, emit a sphere of light or a HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: huṃ, Chinese literal meaning: हुं) syllable. Block the doors of the anus, water passage, navel, mouth, nostrils, ears, eyes, and forehead. Although the upper syllables are not clear, it is good to block the outer door of the crown, that is, these three doors, among the inner and outer doors of the heart, shoulders, and crown. In the center of the body, within the central channel like a copper tube, visualize twenty-eight layers of red lotuses, with your own mind in the form of the BAM (Tibetan: བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: वं) syllable or a white bindu, four fingers below the navel, located below all the lotuses. Hold the prana in conjunction slightly. As you exhale, with the five HAL (Tibetan: ཧལ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हल्, Sanskrit Romanization: hal, Chinese literal meaning: हल्) sounds, gather the prana and mind into the BAM (Tibetan: བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: वं) syllable, raising the BAM (Tibetan: བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: वं) syllable upward onto each lotus with each sound. Apply the five HIK (Tibetan: ཧིཀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हिक्, Sanskrit Romanization: hik, Chinese literal meaning: हिक्) sounds in the same way. Alternatively, it is said that you hook it with the HAL (Tibetan: ཧལ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हल्, Sanskrit Romanization: hal, Chinese literal meaning: हल्) sound and then hold it with the HIK (Tibetan: ཧིཀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हिक्, Sanskrit Romanization: hik, Chinese literal meaning: हिक्) sound. Similarly, also with the five HI (Tibetan: ཧི, Sanskrit Devanagari: हि, Sanskrit Romanization: hi, Chinese literal meaning: हि) sounds, the five HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: huṃ, Chinese literal meaning: हुं) sounds, the five HAK (Tibetan: ཧཀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हक्, Sanskrit Romanization: hak, Chinese literal meaning: हक्) sounds, and the five HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: huṃ, Chinese literal meaning: हुं) syllable sounds, raise it as before, and imagine that the BAM (Tibetan: བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: वं) syllable protrudes slightly on top of the crown at the last sound. Afterward, slowly inhale with force, and imagine that the BAM (Tibetan: བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: वं) syllable gradually descends and remains in its original place below the navel. 12-187 It is good to stamp the soles of the feet or do one or two small tremors. Signs of quickly accomplishing transference will appear. The method to apply at the time of death is: other than that, it is the same as before, but there is no need to descend. If the BAM (Tibetan: བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: वं) syllable shoots out from the crown and transfers to Tushita or Sukhavati, etc., it is the transference of an emanation body.
