If one is deluded by being distracted by attachment, no matter how much effort one makes, siddhi will not be achieved. Therefore, the home that is distracted by sensual pleasures should be abandoned like throwing away ashes, without any attachment or regret. Do not adorn yourself, cut your hair as you please, and take a stick and a broken bowl in your hand, picking up what others have discarded to beg for alms. The second is to abandon the suffering of various conceptual thoughts and physical and verbal actions. Like a mute person, do not speak, and let the mind rest in its natural state, which is emptiness. This is called meditating without moving the body, speech, and mind. Because the three—the meditator, the object of meditation, and the act of meditation—are not perceived, do not meditate at all, but let the mind rest, hey, Hadipa! The remaining meaning is: Because no matter how much one strives to meditate on signs, recite scriptures, manage household affairs, etc., many distractions will prevent even those who have attained the innate basis of the path from quickly achieving siddhi, and if one has not attained it before, it will hinder attainment. Exhaustion of body and mind, and fatigue are the cause of suffering. Therefore, King Gobichandra, if you also wish to achieve the vast benefit and happiness of yourself and others, then, even if you can achieve temporary benefits that seem beneficial and happy, for this, it is better to abandon the kingdom that will bring immeasurable harm to yourself and others, because being distracted by this, samadhi will not be achieved, and extremely vast benefit and happiness arise from samadhi. The third is, if you think that you cannot abandon the happiness of the kingdom, then, when you know that the fruit of familiarizing yourself with the three immovables is the happiness of the natural mind, joy arises without attachment to that inner happiness, and if you are not attached to that joy and happiness itself, then how can you be attached to the impure and painful happiness of samsara such as the kingdom? The second is to advise effort in means and to advise realization of the union itself, the first of which is: Whatever form is seen, whatever sound is heard, whatever smell is smelled, whatever taste is tasted, whatever touch is touched, all of these symbolize the original great bliss. When bliss and emptiness arise, seal it with that, so that the appearance of the external environment will also make the bliss more intense.
