Not only does appearance not contradict, but because of emptiness of inherent existence, all actions arise. All actions depend on dependent origination, therefore they are actually non-existent. As it is said, "The nature of imputation does not contradict, the form of the cushion changes with heat." And in the Bhagavati Sutra, it is said, "In that sutra, Kausika, form is merely an imputation. Whatever is merely an imputation, the venerable Rabjor has not shown to be contradictory." And so on, it is said up to omniscience. Why is that? Because the nature of phenomena is non-contradictory, completely non-contradictory. Therefore, it is said that it does not contradict worldly imputation and also teaches the nature of phenomena, that is how it is. Some, because they hate other-emptiness, try hard to refute the alaya consciousness. If the essence of mind has no inherent existence, then from where is Buddhahood attained? The good view of [two statements] not arising also depends on the realization of this. Considering the importance of this meaning, the great Brahmin also said, "Whoever thinks of it as being free from the root, having obtained the guru's instructions, that is enough." Here it is said: In the supreme vehicle of the snowy mountains, having well understood the characteristics of the excellent path in order, if you wish to enter the ocean of definitive tantras, embark on this great ship of the words of the accomplished guru! The action after having said that is also to explain the definitive meaning very clearly, these words are also because one has obtained the fruit of the special wisdom of liberation, therefore this treatise is also named "The Ear of Liberation." Thus, these words from "Ah Re Ho" to "Practice without bondage" are called "The Ear of Liberation," it is a song that clearly shows the true meaning, happiness and emptiness are equal, that is, determining union. The letters of all tantras, that is, the unchanging words, have the meaning of the ultimate meaning, this supreme treatise was first composed by the feet of Gonpo Jalandhara, it is complete. The verses of this text are ninety-one. The profound secret of all tantras, innate joy, dispelling all doubts about the meaning of the essence, this excellent and precious text, unparalleled, spreads in this direction.

Having obtained leisure and endowment in this life, I am truly fortunate. Thinking of the glorious Lama Vajradhara, His kindness is remembered from the depths of my heart. I constantly pray with reverence, Merciful One, please quickly bless me! Just as one desires to cross the ocean with a raft, I also strive in this place. But with the mind of a child, there may be errors, may the noble ones forgive them. However, nowadays in this place, those who have generated wisdom regarding the definitive meaning are extremely rare. Even if my explanation only confirms this much, I will have great confidence in the presence of the wise. Thus, the profound Prajnaparamita, the mother of all Buddhas, those arising from the principles of the uncommon vehicle, are explained here as they are. May the merit gained from this cause all the activities of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to be practiced in each moment of my life, and may I attain the supreme protector of beings. The Lama said that generally this text is combined with the song of request of King Gobichandra, which seems to exist in the western part of India, but I have not heard of it. It is said that in the east, south, central regions, etc., only this one exists. Thus, the Doha Muktavali commentary of Jalandhara, along with the Secret Treasury, this is the explanation of the actual texts, and the establishment of the limits of the tenets, conforming only to the Lama's view, and also combining scattered decisions and quotations that are in accordance with Tibet, and also perfecting the aspects of the definitive meaning, and also adding a little of the distinctions of one's own wisdom. The respective views of the three noble Lamas of India are also listed as much as possible. Without elaborating on quotations and decisions, etc., in easy-to-understand language, very conveniently, by Shakya Bhikshu Gyalwakhampa Taranatha, at the age of twenty-three, in the year of the Yellow Mouse (1600), on the tenth day of the waxing moon in the upper spring month, written in the solitary place of the King of Forests, the scribe was Drakpa Sangpo. May virtue and goodness increase!
