The foot is, previously, the habit of meditating on samadhi is revealed in the mind and practiced, and the foot of miraculous power of investigation is, like "Do I constantly practice subtle non-virtuous deeds?", the cause of samadhi and what to abandon and adopt are examined without confusion by wisdom. When these four are practiced vigorously, and the four distinctions of attention are obtained, one is far away from dullness, sleep, agitation, regret, jealousy, stinginess, shamelessness, impudence, anger, and concealment, that is, far away from the manifestation of the ten bonds. Then, in order to abandon the ten subtle attachments, one relies on these four feet of miraculous power and diligently practices calm abiding and insight. As will be explained below, one relies on the eight activities of abandoning the five faults to perfect calm abiding. The nature of these feet of miraculous power is not placed on the four, such as desire, but is placed on the aspect of samadhi that makes the mind one-pointed. In mantra, the objects of meditation of these eight are as shown above, so although they are not the same, there is no difference in the way they are composed, so these eight are mostly acknowledged to be the same in both Sutra and Tantra. Fourth, regarding the five faculties, the faculty of faith is the faith of believing in perfect enlightenment, and the diligence of striving in the practice of its cause, and the mindfulness of not forgetting the meaning and object of the Dharma that has been attained, and the samadhi of the mind abiding in one-pointedness in a state of peaceful non-distraction, and the insight of examining and meditating on the nature of reality is wisdom. The meaning of calling them faculties is that they have power over their respective objects. After obtaining the feet of miraculous power, when that person cultivates these five, the object becomes extremely pure and familiar, and thus one obtains whatever desired clarity of appearance in that object. That is, because of faith, one initiates diligence in the object. Through the door of diligence, one abides with mindfulness, and from that, one abides with samadhi in one-pointedness. Because the Dharma that has been made one-pointed is known and distinguished by wisdom, the order is established in that way. After obtaining the feet of miraculous power, in accordance with what has been said, many signs of arising faith increase.

I/We deeply believe in the truth, the Three Jewels, and the results of karma, etc., and especially generate extraordinary faith in the realization of the Teacher and his disciples. Furthermore, until one gains mastery over the object of focus, it is not called a root. This faith gives rise to greater diligence. Faith and diligence produce mindfulness, mindfulness produces concentration, and from that, increasingly superior insights arise, and one still needs to strive to gain mastery. Fifth, having thus obtained the five roots, again, by intensely meditating on them, they become very powerful, and their respective opposing factors, namely, disbelief, laziness, forgetfulness, distraction, and ignorance, cannot hinder them, but are instead destroyed by them, and these are called the five powers. In this unsurpassed vehicle, the root of samadhi is, the power is the wisdom of great bliss. Wisdom is the wisdom of emptiness that focuses on that bliss. The object of both of these is the deity's form that is inseparable from appearance and emptiness. Mindfulness is, up to this point, definitely the only authentic nature. The bliss here is the four joys of the path-time, the bliss of the coarse grasping of external objects ceasing is joy, the bliss of the coarse attachment to internal objects ceasing is supreme joy, the bliss of the coarse grasping of mental events ceasing is special joy, this is the samadhi of bliss during the five roots. The realization of these three joys also arises sequentially. When all coarse grasping of subject and object simultaneously ceases, the great bliss of the eighty innate conceptualizations ceasing to manifest is coemergent, the five powers are the inner samadhi. Sixth, the seven branches of enlightenment are divided into two types, first, the common ones. Right mindfulness, the enlightenment factor, is the holding without forgetting after directly realizing the meaning of the nature of reality, because everything relies on this to proceed, so it is the branch of abiding. Perfect discrimination of phenomena is the wisdom that destroys the grasping of characteristics of conceptual thought and realizes selflessness, it is the main part of the seven branches, because enlightenment is the nature of wisdom.
